She works with window lickers, and it is amazing I don't get a call from the police department after some of her stories. The bad thing is, she has them in all directions. She's an assistant manager, and the people under her are bad, but so is the manager. It really does help with the sex faction work, so I don't mind at all.

As far as TV goes, I don't watch TV so I find a few shows she likes, that I can tolerate and try to watch one with her once a night. Only time things get hairy is when Football season kicks in, and she grumbles when I watch games on the "Big" TV.

Which is my biggest problem with pretending to care about work related issues, I know it's mostly nonsense. I have conversations with co-worker A who's telling me about how co-worker B is useless and then have the same exact conversation with co-worker B about how co-worker A is useless.

Everyone is useless except for you! The only people I don't hear say shit like that are the people who are fairly happy with their job and status within the company.

Yep it's the way women are. Cad has a special snowflake wife that he fucks on their piles of money while she doesn't say a word about work, the rest of us get to listen to the wife explain office drama to us while we think about ninja turtles or something.

I don't mind it I guess, but it is fairly terrible if you actually pay attention. Sometimes we go to dinner with her work friends and I want to blow my brains out. i just like to leave work at work, nothing that terrible happens to me on a daily basis that I feel like repeating it - and also she doesn't quite understand what I do for work anyways so it's not like I can explain how software engineering works.

Side note - I just went to the cafeteria at work and it must be dress like a whore day here because I think I came in my pants 8 times on the way there and back.

My wife's mother is a psycho, I can't even imagine.. I already told her I'd divorce her if she got the short dyke haircut her entire mother's side of the family sports.

I also get the "come to talk to me while I... " but she's cooking or cleaning so I can't hate too much. Haha. Woe be unto me if I try to say so and so celebrity is hot, I'll get a detailed examination of that "average upjumped dick-sucking starlet" and I had better agree she's average or else...

I have mentioned in the past I was toying with hiring my wife. I did this in the summer. She does not report to me in anyway and in fact is in our head office while I am in the branch. I do a ton of work with head office so I know them all very very well, not to mentioned I am one of the owners...

So now when my wife comes home to vent about work, its my company she is venting about. I guess I should say "our" but you know...Before I had no dog in the fight so I would nod along and give the Chris Rock responses. Now I have management insight into some of her issues and its funny because I will tell, nope your wrong, which of course makes me pretty damn dumb for engaging in this conversation instead of just listening, then even dumber for disagreeing.

The best is when you get compared to her dad, because he can fix X or Y, or knows how to do X or Y and you don't. Then you point out the caveman shit her dad also does, and say, hell if you don't mind me acting like that, great, I'll spend time learning to weld/woodwork/plumbing/electrical in the garage too.

Conversation is usually over at that point...

When I am really mad at my wife or she is doing something dumb and needs to be told....I call her MY mothers name...she goes ballistic and I laugh and laugh. I also had the discussion about the short old lady hair cut, she has been advised its grounds for divorce.

Yeah my wife just talks about medical procedures and gets angry when I see where she is going with it because she doesn't realize that I pay attention and could do quite well in her field if I went to school. She gets so angry when she starts describing how she learned something new and half way through the conversation I haven't realized that is what she is doing and I ask her a question that shows I already understood what her problem was and it took her x number of years to figure that out.

I tell her about bandwidth or timing settings and she just glazes over.

Thank god my wife doesn't do that. Her dad is an off-the-grider type who fixes and makes absolutely everything. Converted his Benz into running off bio by himself and the whole 9 yards. I call a worker to fix almost everything because I have no clue how to do it.

Well ICANdo all that her dad does, except work on cars other than fixing breaks or replacing alternator,(But still its not like he could fix a modern, post 80s car anyways) and still not act like a 60s woman hating asshole or drunk, so she cant use that shit against me.

Back the car up dude, I wasn't getting angry about it - I was just saying for the majority of us we gotta listen to the 1 hour work day rant. It's like I drive 2 hours a day for a commute, then another 1 hour to listen to bitching about work. I subtract these numbers from my quality of life goal.
