Felt good last night to just chill out for a bit by myself after the kid slept. I enjoy my time with my wife, but the last 6 months she's basically been joined to my hip when I get home. Also all her TV shows are stupid.

My wife basically watches whatever I put on these days. We're watching Narcos, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, OITNB, House of Cards, etc. All good shows. I recommend you keep trying to get her clothes off and fuck her on the couch if she puts on some boring shit, so either she stops putting on boring shit or you get sex, it's a win/win.

after almost 17 years of marriage, my relationship with my wife has evolved to the point that when she puts on a dumb show that she knows I will not sit through (or at least without constantly making fun of), it is both acceptable and expected that I retreat to the bedroom to play ps4 until she comes upstairs to join me.

This is why we have multiple TVs in the house, including a 47' in our bedroom. When she starts watching her soaps or whateverthefuck gay ass shit she likes to watch, she is sent to her bedroom where she can comfortably watch it in the bed. While I can watch my shit in the comfort of my couch. But more often than not, she already knows not to even put that shit on in the living room anymore.

Bu all kidding aside, my wife hates my shows and I hate hers. She also always respected my alone time. There is a time to be joined at the hip, and there is a time to just enjoy ourselves. The key is balance. So again, youre not living like roommates. Like for instance almost every fri or sat, we hang out, play some cards or just chill outside and have some drinks together by the pool, have a fire...etc, maybe even party down a bit. Every day I spend like an hour listening to her gossips and bitches about work and all that. Sometimes they just like to vent and you have to be there for that. The glorious thing here is that all you have to do is listen, they dont want you to fix anything or do anything, just listen and agree.

Is no one here capable of being bored? I'm forced to watch So You Think You Can Dance every week but I just do it because my wife wants to watch it with someone. Most of the time I'm poking around on the tablet but you're acting like watching a show you're not interested in is basically a punishment. I can live not playing video games for 2 hours a week.

I get maybe 15 minutes a week of work conversation from her. It is never girl-on-girl gossip either it is generally problems she had with Excel today.

We have a 'media room' where there is a loveseat with two reclining spots and a big tv and my computer desk. She sits in there on her laptop, I sit at my desk or in the other half of the loveseat and we have a show of some sort whether it is hers or mine playing. It's just comfortable and we chat about whatever and pause if we need to. I watch her lame stuff and she watches my awesome stuff she thinks is lame.

The other day I brought my wife lunch at work and she was venting the whole time and her co-worker was there so she would join right in. I was like holy crap, I need to get out of here.

An Honorable Woman is also pretty good, the one with Maggie.

It's heavy and about Israel/Palestine. And there are a few scenes where Maggie comes across like a complete artfag. But... I gotta admit that it's an excellent production.

That would be an emphatic yes. The special lady friend isn't too bad about it (she's not the cat fight kind of lady), but when she's stressed about something at work, I get to hear about it in excruciating detail. Yet when I start talking about something related to my work, I can see her eyes glaze over after about 10 seconds. I'm fairly sure that she hardly understands why my business does. Which I'm totally fine with. But don't expect me to give a shit about your work then!

You dont have to, thats the beauty of it, you just have to make it seem like you do. My wife could not give 2 shits about what I do, what I go through and my interpersonal relationships with people at work. When I leave work, I dont even want to think about that shit until the next day when I get my keycard out to get through the door. Women, for the most part, at least I think, enjoy the shit out of that drama crap.

Mine will go on a 5 minute rant with some punch line that I'm sure is preposterous in the legal world because she waits for me to recoil in horror but when i hear it I'm like "so wat".

I think the important thing is getting to vent which i also enjoy so I don't discourage it even though it's largely pointless.

Mine's really smart though, and occasionally springs surprise tests on me to make sure that I was listening, and gets cranky when she figures out that I wasn't. Tricksy bitch.

My girlfriend used to give me a hard time about being on my phone the whole time she watched TV until I told her that if she quit putting such terrible shows on, I wouldn't need to distract myself. Now she still makes me watch some of her shows but the garbage ones she watches on her own time.

The problem is in the future, like when she springs some activity on you the last minute. and you're all like "WTF? You never told me about that!!" "Yes I did, I told you about it several times last week, you just weren't listening"

I am definitely my wife's venting bag for work stuff. If I didn't listen, I think she'd literally explode. She works with window lickers, and it is amazing I don't get a call from the police department after some of her stories. The bad thing is, she has them in all directions. She's an assistant manager, and the people under her are bad, but so is the manager. It really does help with the sex faction work, so I don't mind at all.

As far as TV goes, I don't watch TV so I find a few shows she likes, that I can tolerate and try to watch one with her once a night. Only time things get hairy is when Football season kicks in, and she grumbles when I watch games on the "Big" TV.
