So I checked back after a while and they still haven't made it so you can share legendary quests. It's the #1 reason I stopped playing because I usually play with a friend and not being able to get odin marks while you play with others made it a singleplayer game. Why is this seemingly simple feature taking so long to implement? I don't understand why the isn't more backlash on their forums either. Does everyone just play this by themselves?

From what I understand in the interview Doomsaw gave that Russian site, instead of being able to share the current LQs they are going to introduce new group missions. It does make more sense to do it that way as they can more easily balance both versions, the group versions will probably be somewhat more rewarding but at least choosing to solo will still be viable.
Downloading this now for the first time. I see that they're doing a buy-one get-one for the weekend - any characters that I simply "must" get? I typically go the barbarian/melee/big-old-hunking-hulk type character in most of these types of games (Diablo, etc).
Any recommendations or things I should absolutely jump on purchase-wise while the getting is good this weekend?

I'd recommend Taskmaster if you want a valuable buy-one-get-one melee. If Hulk is your aim then buy him first, duplicate tokens rank up the ultimate attack.
Storm (she's cheap to get) Ironman, Loki, or who you're favorite character is...basically comes down to that. I got some characters from randoms/BOGO that I didn't think I'd enjoy, and they became my favorites.

I think it's random potential for doubles. Pretty sure people whined about it but maybe I'm thinking of the mystery boxes.

Taskmaster is a good character, thing is, his best build is either pure ranged or hybrid that is still heavily ranged, ie only real melee attack being Dismember. If I had to pick one of the tankier heroes to start playing with I'd go with Ms. Marvel, she's got the best tank/damage kit currently. Thing is she is a hybrid as well, so if you just have to play one of the melee brutes I'd go with Colossus, he's very tanky and he actually has some options on how you build him.
Hulk isn't bad, but he basically has one build, and some find his playstyle gets boring pretty fast. Luke Cage is another good option, his AoE damage isn't that great, but his single target damage is way up there, probably 2nd to only Wolverine for melee heroes. Just stay away from both Thor and Thing, you can make them work, but they badly need their reworks.
Oh yeah, should add, if you aren't married to a melee/tank type, and want a strong/fun hero...look at Loki, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Ms. Marvel or Nightcrawler, all are considered good at the moment.

You can buy the cheapo ones and get the expensive ones. Though it could backfire and you could get the same exact cheapo one you bought. Last time I bought 2 cheapo ones, got one of the most expensive (Ironman) and then a midrange (I think Thor?). I've been burned before though with spending splinters for heroes. Its a love/hate situation fosho.
Colossus is one of the starting picks you can get for free and geared up he's probably the best tank in the game atm. Not to mention just raising his hp increases the strength of his best single target attack to levels none of the other tanks can match really.
After taking Scarlet Witch to 60, I hate how weak I feel playing Jean Grey. :\ I'm sure there's some L2P/adjustment issues here, but her skills don't seem that fun in comparison to SW's. Hopefully she'll get more fun as I get more playtime with her.
Storm was my 1st character , then i played Deadpool. To be more clear , Storm is garbage next to Deadpool , not sure why people believe Storm to be the best when clearly there are better. I mean Deadpool can stun lock large packs all the while your DoT kills them. Storm is weak compared to him.
One of the downsides with Jean is that she just has a fairly shallow play style right now. You're either mowing mobs with Phoenix Corona, or dropping circles on the screen. Lots of circles.
If you aren't already playing her as Phoenix then that would help a lot. Here is a solid build for her:

Telepathic Detection, Lethargy, and possibly Phoenix Avatar are getting buffs/fixes so she's getting a bit of a massage to help tide the character over until her review.

Umm, Storm is superior in every single way to Deadpool. I have both at 60. Storm can carry an X-Def, can solo cosmics faster than any of my other characters (including a geared Ms. Marvel) and generally kicks the shit out of everything. Deadpool might be tankier but he also needs to be. Storm slows the shit out of everything to the point of it barely being able to move.
The only thing Deadpool might be better at is killing a cosmic boss faster, but he sure as shit ain't getting the bounty for that cosmic even close to as fast so Storm's clear times will still be superior.
So, until raids get released Storm is strictly superior.
