Animation and movie rights can be two different beasts, but when I was looking up about SWORD, I found this:deleted ending of Thor

That would seem to indicate that Marvel has the intention (and rights) of introducing SWORD at some point in the MCU. I would think FOX doesn't automatically get the rights of anything introduced in the X-Men comics in perpetuity (unless it falls under the "mutant" umbrella).
It's pretty damn close to that for Fox's involvment in the Movies. Wish I could find the article, but Marvel is slowly trying to cut ties with the X men because they claim any character they make in those books is giving Fox more ammo to work with.

They made some really dumb decisions in the 90s to keep Marvel from going under after the comic bubble burst..

I think S.W.O.R.D. is the likely trajectory, too. Why else would they be wanting Fury's Toolbox unless it was for the keys to kingdom, so to speak? (The infrastructure and contacts for building a new organization.)

Secret Warriors makes total sense.

I need to read that over the weekend. Makes me think they might try for a spin off soon.

That way they can always have a Marvel product on the air while one show is in Hiatus. I'm sure this is what DC is thinking as well.

FOX pretty much has carte blanche to anything pertaining to "mutants", so I don't think it's necessarily a matter of that Marvel couldn't use any new characters introduced in X-Men, but that they'd never be able to ever use them fully since they are prohibited from making any mention of anything related to the X-Men or mutants in general. That's part of the reason they can still use Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Age of Ultron so long as they avoid those words and that part of their backstory.

Since there's nothing inherently X-Men about SWORD, I'd suspect that they could use it similarly. So long as no attachment is made to the X-Men universe, SWORD can be part of the MCU, which shouldn't be difficult since SWORD has been used in many different series. (It's possible FOX could use SWORD as well, just with the limitations going the other way - no references to Avengers, etc.). But then, I'm no legal expert, so I guess we'll find out in a few weeks. The whole thing gets confusing once you start looking at parts of the comics that aren't limited to just one series. The Kree originated in Fantastic Four, another series FOX has the movie rights to, but Marvel hasn't been stopped from including them in the MCU.

X -men have so many good stories in those early years. Would kill for Fox to lose the rights.

Juggernaut leveling the local bar that Logan hangs out is still a fond memory, not to mention all the brood wars dark Phoenix stuff.

Then all the crazy shit in the 90s with Xavier being evil, and they race across the galaxy. Fucking fox and their bullshit. I hope a plane falls on Bryan Singers head.

Uh, Days of Future Past was awesome and it basically retconned Xmen 3 out of existence. What's not to like?

Meh, another lame Singer Film. /snore

Not to mention all that stupid shit with Kitty Pryde. Just introduce Rachel Summers, Fucboi.
Hate everything hes created, and I hope he gags on his boyfriends cock.

Also Hugh Jackman will never be Wolverine, and they make him the emphasis in every god damn movie. That was Kitty Pryde that went back...

Do they even bother to look at the source material?? Wolverine is clearly a 6 foot 2 super model. /face palm

Or you find an actor that doesnt look like he just walked out of GQ, and is taller then the whole cast.
In what comic does he remotely look like Hugh Jackman?? he doesn't even have the right body type. Wolverine is a stocky low to the ground ball of fury

Out of the older actors these guys fit the profile when they were younger.. Obivously none of them can do it anymore, but that's the image you are looking for

Danzig had the look at 5 foot 4, and built like a beer keg

Just find a short cave man looking motherfucker that can act. Marvel is having no problems casting their movies

Hugh Jackman is a moot point, so what he's tall, most actors in hollywood are the opposite, they're short, and they're purposely short b/c most women are short and directors want the guy to be a bit taller than the female, not like gigantor sized.

Again Fox either re-casts Jackman as wolverine vs. using worthless trash like Halle Berry.

You can always recycle that argument, actor that cares (Jackmans legendary 2month prep workout to look like a fucking comic book character, to him talking about wolverine, and his arcs annd actually knows the source material at comic con) vs. old hag Berry.

Jackman is far from the worst thing in the Fox/Xmen movies.
Exactly, he's as well cast as Patrick Stewart as Prof. X imo. Also like said above the actor loves the part, which is 100x better than if he was a foot shorter or some nonsense. It's not like he's playing Puck for crying out loud.

First person I thought of playing a great Wolverine is Harvey Keitel, but he's always been too old for these movies so it's really a moot point.

Also agree that Hugh Jackman isn't at all bad in the part and fucking loves playing the character. A refreshing change from 99% of the other superhero actors who bitch about wanting to do other stuff.

Chris Evans is literally perfect as Captain America in every way and those movies have brought him worldwide recognition. Before I had no idea who he was.

That's like saying Jessica Alba was the invisible woman. More people probably remember her from Idle Hands.

I don't get how that clip indicates sword. Did they say sword somewhere in the audio I could barely make out? I did hear them say the word shield, but that's as close as I could come.
