Agree that Ward is boring and Skye is a lame character. Skye actually annoys the shit out of me. Not exactly sure why.

The series would be better off if two of their main characters didn't suck.

for me i'd rank the characters in this order, coulson does not get a ranking, because, by most ppls accounts he carries the show or is why some tune in to watch the show and he has a current and on-going mythos in both the marvel movie and comic book world.

1 and 2)fitz+simmons
3)melinda may
4)skye
5)agent ward

as i was going through this list over dinner convo (with some other friends we have tv nights with) the ppl who have zero interest in comics/marvel that whole thing (basically ppl who just watch avengers and an iron man movie here and there) have the order reversed.

wonder if anyone has had the some experience?
Unfortunately I don't watch it with anyone else, so I'm not sure how they'd rate it. I'd rate it the same as yours, except I'd swap Ward and Skye.

Its like the avengers, we had these awesome super badass heroes then 2 human dipshits shooting bows and arrows right next to them as if they could really compare. I think marvel includes a male and female human so the non nerd audience has someone to relate to.

to be fair, the last episode was the best dramatical episode of the season. even though we all knew they would find a cure for the avengers virus and hermione was going to just fine at the end, still it was nice giving a shit even a little bit about one of these characters.

Just some venting about parts of the episode...otherwise see comic above
Why are they making shield seem like a bunch of low level pussies? Coulson kept getting shit on by superiors and dealing with bureaucracy? I thought he did the shitting. Coulson knows all the world's secrets, including intimate knowledge about gods and superpowers, but Skye's file is too high level? Better be some hell of a payoff at the end of the season.

It was his own file he was trying to access (hence the Tahiti part).

victoria hand (which was a damn spot on depiction) is a recently created shield agent for the era in which norman osborn took over shield (and renamed it hammer) she's basically a glorified secretary to osborn (or shield accountant), she monitors his crazyiness and when he was too crazy she lead hammer/shield. for some silly reason when osborne and his crazy hammer was deposed, and it went back to shield, she became the leader or glorified secretary of the avengers, which
basically lead to her death, via some astral plane shit and dr strange

i don't know if we ever get the access levels of them but hand (but she could possibly be a 9?)/coulson is 8, may/ward is 7, fitz/simmons is 5 and skye is level 0(i guess if she doesn't even have a level)

I think this episode dovetails nicely into Winter Soldier in that we see SHIELD being a lot more proactive than in the past. Here they are actually invading a section of a country in the name of securing world peace which ties into Captain America's concern that it is turning into a police state.

Agent Ward was ok this time around. They are in dire need of an episode that gives him some back story though.

maybe ward is like one of those parasites, alone he is boring as fuck, but pair him up with anyone and he mystically becomes tolerable.

this episode actually pissed me off. fucking skye chong, first she has a no PC bracer which means exactly jack and shit. then she completely corrupts hemione by making her breach security to see how her BFF is doing. she attacks a high ranking official and when the chief chick brings this up, coulson is like, chill bitch i got this. and thats the end of that? what is this fucking skye chong doing in this facility anyway and why is she allowed to go asking whatever fucking questions and roaming around? and OMG more of this mommy and daddy issues shit. fucking really? t

hen we have shield itself which seems to be full of people saying fuck it to protocol and doing things because they "had a gut feeling" instead of following orders. i hope real government orgs are not run like this. jesus christ. that aside, i liked the mission itself. agent meathead was fine this week.
