Loved this episode. Great way to kick off.
there was a Kree body in one of the boxes at the beginning when the Howling Commandos showed up. That was great. And the symbols on the 0-8-4 were the same ones Coulson was drawing at the end of last season.

holy shit, they go from season1 LOL worthy deathlok to fucking doing absorbing man justice.

season1 was such shit with super human powers, cosplay did a better job, someone must have noticed and thats how we get absorbing man.

they really should just kill ward, he's useless to the plot, also him + sky is just horrible television, it could just be sky is horrible.

the mercs were corny lucy lawless was great as always, maybe she's not dead? lets get more of her, somehow and i think they played the crazy fitz part too soon, they could have easily have let that drag on for 3 or 5 more episodes.

Great opener. It is also nice to see an actual super villain to play off of now, as well as Hydra elements. You can't go wrong with evil nazis ;p

I really think that the show could have benefited from starting in January last year instead of September, that way they wouldn't have had to spin their wheels so much waiting for the tie in to Captain America 2. Certainly off to a better start than last year. Lets hope the ratings reflect that.

I disagree. The episode needed that gut punch.
well for 1 off eps payoff it makes sense, why steel a quinjet? cuz fitz is fucked and lost like 100IQ points or whatever and can't create it.

but man they could have been doing the sixth sense thing for just a tad bit longer to have more oomph.

something like you see fitz having one of his fake simmons episodes then the real simmons walks in and you're like wtf. (cuz i guess shes off on another base)

I dug the new episode. It was definitely a lot stronger than most of what we saw in season 1. They're off to a great start.

I actually was thinking that Simmons was in-head given the way she was acting around Fitz the whole episode. Then I decided "nah they aren't doing that" only to be rewarded at the end.

All round the show was much sharper with this opening, I think because with Hydra and having to be clandestine they really have a stronger central premise than they did with 084-of-the-week.

Part of me wants the occasional episode to be done from the Hydra POV with the show title graphics change etc.

Overnight ratings are apparently roughly equal with what it was at the end of the season. No where near what it started out with, but the marketing for the initial launch was soo heavy it would be hard to match.

shit i didnt realize that was lucy lawless, she used to be quite the tasty morsel. oh well, chicks dont usually age well though there definitely are exceptions. that first episode was fucking awesome, if they can keep that momentum going this will be an incredible season, but that is a big if. the budget for that episode must have been huge. no way they can keep doling out that kind of bread for a show that isnt pulling in crazy numbers every week. anyway, great episode, i am interested to see where they go after this. hopefully its not back to the dullness of season one. kinda hard not to with all the episodes they are slated for.

That code they used to hack the military had to be a subtle nod to Dollhouse. It was a series of numbers followed by "Sierra Victor". I know it's the NATO phonetic alphabet, something the military uses, but picking those two out of anything had to be more than just coincidence, particularly considering the actor who played Victor is going to be inAgent Carter.

I was already going to watch Agent Carter, but now that you told me he was going to be in it, I'm definitely sold. That guy is a fantastic actor, and needs to get a lot more work.

Enver Gjokaj on Agent Carter?! Yes please.

Premiere was pretty rocking. If they can keep this kind of pace and storytelling up all season, I'd be astonished if the ratings don't pick up.

Absorbing man was dope. The guardsimmediatelyopening his cell when he disappeared was retarded though. They know he's got powers, no way they don't use some sensors and shit first. Still, I liked how he was used. There's a tendency to make him just a big meathead type guy, and they had him be a lot subtler and smarter than that with his powers and it was really cool. Not just the stealth stuff, but the non-organic rubber hand to hold the Obelisk. Also we even got a little nod to him and his signature wrecking ball. The guy that cast for him is pretty perfect as well for how he's usually drawn.

Beats the everloving fuck out of Nick Nolte...

The general dude as a non-evil foil is pretty great too. Heroes mayor guy is pretty solid.

Patton Oswalt gets more screentime! Yay!

The real Howling Commando guys from Captain America, including Dum Dum Dugan. Much nicer than just some random soldiers backing up Peggy Carter. I have to wonder if we'll be getting a lot more flashback stuff, pretty minor to bring them in for.

Damien Karp from Franklin and Bash as some sort of immortal Nazi doctor? I can get behind that.

I liked the FitzSimmons reveal.

Ward is gonna be a bit of a Chekov's Gun. Sort of...not sure I'm using that right. We know he's there, he's going to get used for something huge eventually. Plus until then he'll be doling out little bits of Hydra info to keep the story moving along.

All in all other than the minor hammy dumb stuff(the guards, and May riding off slow as shit on the motorcycle while no one shoots her) it was a really strong start.

Pretty sure they are all going to be in Agent Carter that is set to premier in Jan, when Shield goes on hiatus. Its only 4 episodes right now but could expand

FitzSimmons really is FitzSimmons now. That has to a wink to the fans.

Crazy Ward is much more interesting than Dudebro Ward.
