This place just became my Baby Jesus of clothing stores:J.Hilburn
I just had the measurement done last week due to my sister buying me a gift certificate of $100 for my B-day. Yes I know price will depend on fabric, etc., but how much does this shit cost? After I gave the woman my code for $100 she asked for my credit card for the "left over" transactions but failed to say how much. A work shirt costs $150, regardless with how well it fits, is not worth it if I am just going to spill coffee on it a week later.

tl;dr Having abnormally long arms and legs, while a smaller waist, sucks bro.

As for those who were helping me with the golf outfit I just said fuck it and bought an$80 Nike shirtand shorts at Golf Galaxy.

I don't know, I just can't make wanting to wear cargo shorts to play golf and having a shirt custom tailored fit together for some reason.

Work shirts range from $100 to $160 depending on the fabric you choose and style. I personally think they're a great value considering they are custom made/fitted. IMHO they are on par in terms of quality with more expensive "off the rack" brands like Hugo Boss. You could buy a Banana Republic shirt for $80, pay another $20 to get it altered, and then have it fall apart after you wear it 10 times or so. Just saving on the trip to and from the tailor is worth the price difference to me. I hate that shit. Bitch comes to my work and measures me, then the stuff shows up at my front door a few weeks later. Priceless imho as I hate "browsing" the mall for new clothes with a passion.

Where are the actual items made?

Hmm, good question actually. I'll have to take a look at a label when I get home. I would think the US though since it only takes them two weeks to turn around an order. I can't imagine them being able to both sew it and ship it from abroad in such short time. Ultimately it doesn't really matter though, unless you get Brioni, Hermes, or something similarly super high end, everything is sewn in Asia.

The main reason why I am getting my work shirts fitted is not because I am some high roller fashion guru but because it is necessary. I literately can not purchase a shirt off of the rack to fit my measurements unless I get massive sized shirts that go down to my thighs and could easily fit 3 people in the chest.

Basically I am fit, 6'4" with a 34/36 inch waist depending on the brand but have (according to the lady who measured me) an average length torso but crazy long arms / legs. She said something along the lines of my height to span ratio being all out of whack.

Yup, it does! And by indoor plumbing, I'm assuming you mean a toilet that gets "flushed" by a black guy in a white tuxedo with a bucket of water.
No but the country club here does have a black guy for a restroom attendant. He and the ladies in the kitchen are the only blacks, no members. But we do have regular indoor plumbing.

I'm finding myself wearing suits regularly again. I only own maybe 6 of them but I have a variety of trousers on top of it. Most earth and warm trousers (beige, charcoal, gray, tan) go with most coats as long as there is a stark contrast between the two correct? (IE: Navy coat/beige trousers. Charcoal coat/gray trousers)

If you do have to wear a suit every day, a second pair of identical trousers is a great idea, if possible.

I've never liked the odd trousers look, myself.
Same. To me it gives off this "academic" look, like the person only belongs in a college or university as a professor. I mean I'm sure that done properly you can look sharp that way, but it just looks off to me.

I like the style of the shorts on the J. Hilburn site Wombat linked earlier:
J.Hilburn

However, they seem to have almost no selection on sizes. How does an online retailer sell out of so many sizes? Anyone have suggestions on where else to get that style of short (nice shorts, I don't mind paying the money). I refuse to spend money at most retailers these days because brands like Banana Republic are extremely overpriced and fall apart after about 3 washes and cheapo brands like Old Navy fit and look like shit.

I only do this with a blazer, I wouldn't match my suit coats with anything other than the matching pair.

So my custom J. Hilburn shirt finally came in and it fits like a dream and is of good quality material. With that said, when it was all said and done, it came to $140. Is that typical for quality button down shirts or am I paying for the name /service? I know the price can fluctuate depending on material, customizations, etc., but will they be a bit cheaper in the future now that my fitting is done and they have it on file?

If you look up a local tailor/seamstress, they do alterations on shirts that make them feel custom fit for like $10. So take any ~$40 shirt of great material that you can find at Nordstrom Rack, Men's Warehouse (some great sales here), etc., add $10 to the purchase price, and you have a custom shirt. I have a really long arms for my torso, so I need to buy slightly larger shirts that I just get taken in.

So... you're paying for the name/service.
