No, I understand they'll look worn. I like a nice worn shoe, but mine look like shit.
Are you using regular brown polish? If you are using too light of a tone they will not blend in properly. I use the standard 'dark' brown Kiwi stuff on mine. I also hit the sides up with the touch up color in the applicator bottles every once in awhile.

I bought a pair of Nunn Bush (Nann Bush, something?) shoes for work, a deeper brown. After a few months they were faded to shit on the sides. I did oil and polish them quite a bit but still happened. What's the proper way to prevent this on my next pair? I much prefer a brown dress shoe to black except when I'm wearing black slacks. These are for work, so daily use.
Dont wear the same pair to the office two days in a row. I do two days off for every day worn, so you will need 3-4 pairs to get through a week. Put them in shoe trees every day, I use proper cedar ones. Polish the shoes every 8 times you wear them, or if a month passes, whichever happens first. These balmorals are a decade old and look as good as the day I bought them

This is exactly what you need to do if you want your shoes to last and look good.

One caveat, I wouldn't expect your nunn bush shoes to hold up very well regardless of what you do to preserve them. A sub 100 USD shoe just isn't going to have the durability or properties to maintain shape/look over time. I would say max lifetime of a shoe like that is a couple years at most. Wearing 3-4 times a week probably need to chuck after 1 year.

I looked a little ways back and didnt see any reference to my question - How are the clothing companies that select your style and send the clothing to you in the mail? For instance, "Trunk Club" or "FiveFour" (ads Ive seen are from just those two companies). Second, if they are reasonable - Do any of you know some good ones?

My schedule flips flops between day and night. I also work quite a bit of overtime so when I do have those 3 and 4 day weekends, I only usually take a day off to pay bills etc. unless whatever girl Im dating at the time wants to do something. I wear a Uniform all the time at work, and thats definitely rubbed off on my wardrobe and I dislike that. I have a huge amount of long sleeve button up shirts, a couple polos and mostly dress pants of some varying color. Its easy, its what I know, and I can reliably be caught off guard or do something professional at the drop of a Hat. I had six different pairs of Corcoran boots at any moment in the Army that I kept shined up and "perty" and I havent left that standard with dress shoes. It honestly just sounds great that I would have new, fasionable clothes all the time, and all I would have to do is pick them up off my door step. Thoughts?

They are overpriced, but they actually do put some decent stuff in there. The problem is you are going to pay a lot more for clothes that are already pricey. One trunk from trunk club will have like 2 shirts, a pair of jeans, a pair of shoes, some shorts and a belt and if you wanted to keep the whole thing it would cost you like $750

@Daid: I use Fashion Stork, I paid just under retail for the box for the clothes I got. What they sent me was a Chapps Golf Shirt, matching dress shorts, a typical short sleeve dress shirt and a Nautica tie. I think it's fantastic if you have a core wardrobe built and are looking to flesh things out. Just make sure you send them the correct size.

So... I realized that my fashion is way out dated. I dress like a teenager, and I need an overhaul. I'm talking both with work attire (shitty polo and jeans) as well as comfort (t-shirt with jeans or khaki shorts) Is there like someone you could see that is up to date on fashion and can look at your body type and tell you what would work for you, or is it simply a matter of looking in a magazine for the styles and lots of trial and error?

Recommendations for cold weather states (Minnesota)? What do you do for classy shoes when you are walking through slush and / or snow. Not hiking through snow banks, but just general use. Get some galoshes? Some sort of hearty shoe brand?

My good shoes usually get destroyed by the water / salt combo.

I just have a pair of waterproof boots that I wear on snowy days(or if we're having a serious rainstorm)

They look something like this:

I just wear them all day, they look fine once the upper part is covered by dress pants/khakis. The toe part that people see doesn't look too much different from a normal dress shoe. The only downside is that they tend to get pretty warm, but it's still easier than the hassle of bringing 2 pairs of shoes to work.

But around here, I probably don't wear them more than 10 times per winter, we don't get a ton of snow, and when we do it's gone/melted within a couple days.

You can put some leather protector on the shoes to make them water resistant. I don't wear "dress shoes" but I do wear leather Wolverine 1K's in the winter and just put some Obenauf's LP on them every other week or so depending on the amount of snow/salt.

Any recommends for a leather jacket? Mine has about had it and I'm gonna need a new one for winter. Looking to spend ~300-500$ and keep it for another 10 years, the more biker/punk the better.
