no matter how hard he trains and gets coached, he is still just a pussy with money fighting retired folks for more money. If he wants to be thought of an athlete he would be fighting in a actual competitive environment. Ben on the other hand, has competed in a competitive environment, with some success to go with it. Ben is already the winner for the money he will make even if he loses.

I think people just hate on Jake Paul because he is a sociopath and an idiot. Which is fine, as he deserves criticism for how gay he can be. But when it comes to boxing, he has looked pretty good. Askren isnt a real challenge IMO. Oh and are you really trying to argue that Ben IS an athlete? He looks like shit, cmon dude.

Who's calling them pussies? Saying that they might not be world class regardless of how much they train isn't calling them pussies. A lot of being an elite athlete is genetic obviously.

Askren went 153-7 wrestling in college, was a US champion and made the Olympic team. Calling him a non athlete is just ridiculous. Not even saying he'll win the fight, but saying he's not an athlete is just absurd. Paul might win the fight but that's just the massive difference in training. What do you think happens if they wrestled instead? Or what would happen if Paul fought Briedis or one of the good cruiserweight contenders? They're beating a bunch of non boxers at boxing, which is what they do.

Could be. Ben kept his hips back and posture high, not much you can do from that position on bottom. Aoki ate a couple big shots and the ref probably stepped in a bit early. Thats honestly about how BJJ guy pulling guard on a wrestler should look. Ben was landing just about everything he threw that whole fight short as it was.

EDIT: rewatched, that was a good stoppage. Aoki went belly down, thats an I quit in my mind

He was also the Welterweight champion in both Bellator and ONE, which is still world class competition even if it's not the best of the best. Yeah Masvidal pretty much turned him into a living meme with that flying knee but before he stepped up to the UFC he was undefeated professionally

Sure. I guess the better way to make my point is that the Pauls are probably in the 99th percentile of people that do some organized boxing. They have top notch training and are reasonably athletic dudes. They're not scrubs but they're also not really fighting anyone that's a real boxer. Askren is like 99.999th percentile or whatever as a wrestler and was a legit MMA fighter that gets shit on somewhat deservedly over the 1 fight. Again, it's reasonably likely that Paul will win the fight, but the difference is years of top notch boxing training vs a guy that'll have a lot less.

Aoki fought cans in Pride. That's the appropriate explanation.

Chael Sonnen was right about a lot of stuff with Pride.

To be fair, he's making way more money doing what he's doing as opposed to slogging it upward through the professional ranks

askren had the easy life in one championship, all their talent is asian and small, ben was a ww champ, and one championship is +1 weight rank ahead of ufc, so ben was really a 185 middleweight, what asian weighs this much and has that much talent?

the last fight in one with aoki, i thought it looked like a work, but it might have been really b/c aoki is one weight class lower than ben, he just had no challengers in one championship at his weight class, he's basically the 145 cris cyborg.

so he hasn't had to build the lean body to fight ppl at his weight when he was just fighting tiny asians.
