The podcast really isn't that bad. They're all friends and Rogan is just telling Schaub how it is. It's uncomfortable but not brutal.

I'm sure he'll stick to the company line of "it's more professional and the all of the money is going directly to the fighters." Schaub himself said he was just speculating, anyway. No one knows how it'll be paid out yet.

Yes but what about the immediate impact to these guys? They are having sponsors drop off now, and I don't think they are getting the Reebok money yet, correct? So how do you cover the fighters in the interim?

Wtf is he supposed to say, yeah I have no chance at ever winning the title but im gonna keep dicking around in the division for the hell of it? I mean I doubt he beats Cain either, but I also doubt it will be a Brock level embarrassment if they fought.

They're heavyweights. Even Cain can (and has) get caught. What Gavitard said is right, every single one of them has to believe that they can and will beat whoever is put in front of them.

Yeah, that's a tough one. I listened to the podcast where Schaub was talking about this, and he said that he makes double from his sponsors than what the UFC pays him, but now he's not getting shit. I doubt the UFC cares since it's not their issue and entirely on the sponsors.

And that is really what I was getting at. They are spinning this as being a good thing for all fighters, which it may be in the long run. But in the interim they should be making it right for these guys if they are indeed losing out on sponsor money. But Dana being Dana will probably say tough shit

Yeah I don't know if they could have accurately predicted sponsors bailing early like this, but it's something they should try and make right in the short term.

This will get interesting once real numbers start showing up.

Yeah, can't wait. Thatch is a fucking beast. I've only seen Wonderboy once (his last fight, was an early prelim I think) but that sideways taekwondo shit is fun to watch.

I'm sure they'll all end up fighting, anyway. The card tomorrow has Jessica vs Randa, Felice vs Lisa, Bec vs Heather, JoJo vs NoName and Tecia vs Angela. After Carla loses she'll just end up going against one of the winners, likely to be Jo or Randa.
