The refs need to stop tacking the fighters all willy nilly and pull the fighters off. Could've fucked up OSP's knee with that

I put $40 on Bisping to win.

Could've also taken 10 seconds to actually pull a strong ass trained fighter off of someone while he rains blows on an unconscious persons head and then called the morgue to set up the funeral when the dude on the ground dies...
If the ref grabs a fighters arm to stop him and he continues to punch for 10 seconds, then the fighter deserves a suspension. And if you see a guy is unconscious and keep punching him, you're a sack of shit. All this "keep fighting until the ref pulls me off" faux machismo is bushleague. It's got nothing to do with making sure you get the win and everything to do with getting a boner at the chance of punching a man in the face uncontested
That's training, she couldn't stop herself even if she could...
If you let the fighter decided when enough is enough, you get angry fighters like Roy Nelson, kickin big john in the ass, cuz he though Bigfoot had enough, or you have Old man Silva flying knee Bisping, walking off and jumping on the cage for victory celebration.
Nope, unless your name is Mark Hunt, you don't walk off for shit.
Or Paul Harris thinking he won, or the phantom tap in the Overeem v Miocic fight etc etc etc. It's a dumb fucking point deserving of the response I gave you. Lanx bothered to type it out.
Yes she could've have. She chose not to. Are you telling me the fighters that don't pound the shit out of their unconscious opponents are poorly trained? When Machida held up on Munoz was it because he's poorly trained or was it because he's got discipline and restraint? Or how about this one? He totally should've just beat the fuck out of the guy's face until the ref stopped it, right?
Nelson was right to be angry. He was angry because he didn't want to have to keep punching Bigfoot (who, lets be honest, really doesn't need anymore unnecessary blows to the head) and Big John was terribly slow to stop it. That's not so say an extra punch on a situation like Silva/Bisping wouldn't have been necessary to seal the deal, but there's a HUGE difference between that and what Holly was trying to do.
The point is, the fighter doesn't get to decided when the fight is over, b/c you'll have contention and bias. Sure fighters are used to deciding when over is over, since every fighter Spars and no one wants to fuck up their sparring partner, so you'll decide when enough is enough.
But when a fight is on the line, if you only get 2 fights a year if you're lucky, or if you're on a losing streak and about to be cut or your fighting to keep your championship or trying to earn a strap, do you really think is gonna be decided by fighters?
Nope, no fighter wants to live through the regret that they decided enough was enough, fucked up and lost... ala Old man Silva v. Bisping. I mean look what happened, in the end Bisping gets a title shot b/c of luck (pullout) and a win over a legend and he just defended against a near unranked grandpa. While Silva got Son'd by big fat whale, DC.
Even best friends Arlovski and Browne, who had thanksgiving dinners w/ family together, said fuck it, imma make this awesome meme.
Arlovski didn't think about no thanksgiving dinners w/ that backhand.
or Hendo is just playing up the idea that Bisping is an ass and Hendo drops H-bombs from hell, fuck Bisping? My point is only that there are often some clear cut times when a fighter is clearly out and not coming back and the extra punches are only about getting some freebies in. Henderson said as much about the first fight with Bisping.
That is a glorious gif though
“I believe I [shut him up] for a little while,” Henderson said. “I don’t know if I can ever shut his mouth completely, though. Normally, I’m not that way in fights. I know if a guy is out, and I tend to stop. I knew I [knocked] him out. I think that last one was just to shut him up a little bit.”
He said it himself. Bisping was stiff falling to the ground. He was clearly out.
Every one of these Hunt gifs shows a less obvious KO than Bisping. Struve wasn't even knocked out; Hunt just knew he had enough
