It is so "wild" since World was amazing and ran great. Don't remember having a single performance issue at all.

Having your starting area be a poster child for "too much brown" doesn't really help either. It runs like crap and you're looking at nothing but desert and blurry rock textures.
I agree with you! World was running pretty well.

Did they switched to RE engine?

Yeah I had to go back out to the main menu b/c I have no idea htf the menus work in this game. Then joined Private Lobby, Squad Lobby or whatever and am in there now. Makes sense, for some reason thought I was already in it when I logged in.
In Japan one must suffer brutally in order to play with friend.

Seeing my Palico use its Air Balloon to fly around during combat and nuke a mob with a flamethrower is pretty hilarious.

Multiplayer is making me enjoy the game a lot more. Jumping into juicy tempered fights that people saved as investigations for loot explosion is A+.

Also just made a god tier para SNS artian weapon. With all feasible attack buffs and mid fight buffs will probably be close to ~400 attack, ~70% affinity on weak points/~90% affinity on wounds.

Gonna work on getting a raw and blast one done as well.

Looks like the current meta are weapons that has paralysis element. I been seeing videos players owning monsters with a paralysis weapon doing speed runs. I’m leveling through the campaign with the paralysis SnS suggested by Teraryze and it’s been good thus far.

Hit HR 100.

Think I finished my build for SNS. IDK what else I can do to min/max it with the deco change and these were best quality of life for multiplayer.

My thoughts on this at HR19 so far, so not sure what else unlocks later. Using insect glaive, but thinking of swapping to gun lance. I used the same weapons in World. I like them.

Visuals
Good. Have a 4090. Get 100+fps. Only bugs I've encountered is some weird texture bug where it "zooms" into my characters eye or somesuch. There are flickering triangles, but if I move the camera around attempting to focus the triangles you could say, it shows a circle in the middle like I am inside the character head with flickering black triangles around it. Happens sometimes trying to cut corners where the camera gets close to the character. Odd bug, though didn't see it yesterday. Fixes itself if I log out to main menu and back again. Saw some streamers get it too, so thankfully not the GPU dying.

Party with people with the hunter horns though is particle insanity.

Gameplay
More monster hunter. Great, though as others have said here. Feels a bit easy so far.

Some things I miss, but don't know if they come later.

- Where are the chef cats making my food and a cantina?
- Is there a point to endemic life now? In Worlds it felt rewarding running around exploring new zones, during different times, both in regular and high rank since finding new things (like the "treasures") unlocked new foods and such. Quests from chef and so on. Then capturing things you could use to decorate.
- Capturing mobs in World and you could sometimes see them in the main hub. Nice touch, not here? Capturing also led to arena quests. Not sure if that is the case here?
- Progression quests for the different cat tribes, different classes to unlock? They all just streamlined?

Overall thoughts
I liked the main hub(s) of MHW far better than the scattered camps in Wilds. Large zones, but I don't feel the need/want to run around them and explore for things. Even looking around scouting for camps, with the "feel" of finding hidden areas. Now the maps look like they have the most advanced GPS system in history. Where everything is found immediately.

It's like they took feedback from the "I only want to hunt!" crowd, making the world feel far less ... worldish? Progress from regular to high rank in the zones in world, I spent lots of time just exploring, here it feels pointless? No need to find traces of enemies to be able to track them, they're GPS tagged even when they're just a ????
But then there is the strange thing of the "I only want to hunt!" crowd also go "There is no story in monster hunter, only hunts!" and skip every dialogue, but they add a story (with a main character that is very annoying). So they appear to have streamlined everything to get you to just focus on hunts and fast/easy progression while forcing on a story with constant "don't go there!" if you so much as attempt to go off the quest paths to look at something or pick something up.

I do like the game, but I liked the base game of World more. This feels less? Just like some things are missing. Unless they all come later.

Everyone playing with SNS isn't playing the same game as the rest of the players.

Switched from GS to SNS and had to check if i loaded up the right game. Shit trivializes everything.

I used this earlier video to try out enabling newer DLSS and Frame Generation for my RTX3080.

Went from having around 58-70fps at High settings to around 100fps at Ultra settings (not using the highest texture pack).

My eyesight is so bad now so I dont know if many of these settings are noticable for me but the fps are way better now.

Yup, kind of feel ripped off they did a ton of work to make the world feel alive and gave us zero reason to explore it. Story is made worse by the forced walk and talk. I can join maybe 1-15 multiplayer games as well get many different error codes. Not enough monsters and I burned through all the optional quests which is crazy considering how many were in previous game launches.

HR65 pure lance and all my complaints would go away if there was more, feels like we got the expansion first…where is the meat?!

We got Monster Hunter World Iceborne - Lite. Much bigger, better designed world, but fewer Monsters. I trust Capcom will fill it up, but the time to do so will be lengthy.

I feel like its way to easy to get jewels and rare parts (ex: monster gems) due to the guaranteed rewards on some fights. Cut down what took weeks in world to < week in Wilds

That allows multiple builds which is good imo. Farming decos in worlds was painful. It's just that there aren't a ton of monsters, this has to be the smallest list ever. What are there like 4 new ones?

Yeah the new system better be easier considering half only work in weapons.
