Most cap space in years and best draft position in years. But really in FA I just want boring O-line action. There's few really splashy names that are worth their price tags this year. And LO fucking L at Pittsburgh/Dallas.

Only consolation as a Cowboys fan is that with all that ridiculous cap space everyone else has, FA's are most likely going to be ridiculously overpaid. This way Jerry Jones can't sign a $50 mil contract for a WR that will be out of the league in 3 years.

Pretty sure the Cowboys are $2 mil under, before cutting Ware or Austin (who will definitely get June 1 cut).

I wouldn't say that's overpaying for Michael Johnson. He's pretty damned good. I'm glad Carlos Dunlap was the DE the Bengals ended up locking down though. I think he's a bit better than MJ93.

They are all overpaid, but I get your drift.

Chiefs may free up some room, I read they are possibly dealing Brandon Alberts to the Doh!phins. I hear there is a need for linemen down there.

Yeah, the front 7 is terrible at protecting Tannehill.

Considering how consistently terrible the teams with the most room have been*, it will be interesting to see how much they have to overpay to get anyone.

Personally, if I were them, I wouldn't pick up anyone on day one or two, then give the guys that fell through the cracks slightly less than the top names got. No point in paying the top dollar value and then a location tax on top.

*Though the Raiders were actually 8-8 as recently as 2011 and 2010. Of course, that was the pre-Manning era where the 8-8 Broncos led by Tim Tebow won the division in 2011.

Seeing some of these deals so far is crazy, but I guess it's not really any different than any other recent year. Being reported that the Browns will be signing Whitner for $8-$8.5mil. per, which is more than Kam Chancellor. Whitner was pretty good last year, but he was one of the worst safeties in the league in 2012. Dude's a product of being around great players. Dashon Goldson 2.0 in every way.

I won't really be sad to see him go. He costs us a ton of yards trying to live up to the "Hitner" bullshit and while he improved this last year, as you point out, he was downright awful the year prior.

Well now it is final - the best move to make but will be sad watching Ware playing for someone else.

Apparently we just signed Antoine Bethea to a 4 year deal. I like the signing. He's durable, playing every game the last 6 seasons, and has averaged 100+ tackles during that time. I'm not sure how great he is in coverage(haven't looked up the stats yet), but on the surface, it seems like a good pickup.

Forget the safety, this is the big signing for the Niners. Since their entire gameplan each week is to jump out to a 3-0 lead then to sit on that lead with their defense and running game, having a clutch kicker is key.
