Hasn't been announced. Maybe they got Gabbert so there's someone else to pick on in the locker room.

Filed to ESPN: San Francisco is trading a conditional draft pick to Miami for OT Jonathan Martin, per league sources.
Man, I don't know about that. I know he played for Harbaugh and all, but unless it was an eighth round pick I don't see the upside.

Guessing that the condition is that he finishes the season. I'm sure they're not giving much for him. Steve Young says that the 49ers have the best locker room in the NFL and obviously they don't think that they are going to have trouble with him.

How the fuck did the Bucs get Verner for $6mil. a year when these other DB's around his same level (Shields/Talib/Byrd) are getting $10mil.? Crazy.

I'm okay with the 49ers getting Gabbert and Martin for the 6th and 7th round picks. Potentially filling 2 of the backup spots with people who have already played in the league vs. late round picks which rarely make final rosters anyway.

Martin will do fine, he wasn't the problem. Miami is beyond dysfunctional.

Baltimore being indicated as landing spot for Steve Smith assuming he's cut by the Panthers. He's just so old....not that he's going to be playing long term no matter where he goes. I really don't understand why Carolina's dropping him either, they effectively aren't getting enough cap space back to sign a suitable replacement. Maybe they are counting on the strong WR class in this year's draft.

Unless the Raiders have some dirt on Veldheer, paying Saffold instead of him seems way dumb. Maybe I'm just a homer after all, but I was expecting better out of the new (Packers-derived) management.

Also, the Browns letting Ward go and bringing in Whitner seems way dumb too. So far in the contest of recently terrible teams, the Jaguars have won by not doing anything.

I do admit to liking the Broncos going for it in the little time they have left with Manning. The 2016 or 2017 version of the Broncos is going to be terrible, but at least they are giving it a shot while they can.
