They traded Gabbert that has to count as a + right?
Gabbert may have just been dropped into a horrid situation. The Jaguars are awful - he was sacked 40 times his rookie year, 3rd most in the NFL. He also never really got much of a chance to play, after tearing his labrum. Not that he's going to be the next Steve Young, but he had an outside shot of being selected No. 1 over Cam, once Luck decided to return for his senior year.

That is accurate. He's easily the worst QB we've had in the last decade, he just happened to be tall and had a strong NFL-calibur arm. But his actual QB play was pretty terrible. Brad Smith, Chase Daniel and James Franklin were all MUCH better college QBs.

Christ, Gabbert had like 16TDs and 9Int his Junior year before going pro, and that's in a spread offense. Not good. It's amazing how far being tall and having a strong arm will get you, it's like the NFL ignores everything else. Same thing with Josh Freeman. Anyone that saw Freeman play in college knew he was a terrible QB.

Seahawks fans are losing their minds not understanding why Tate wouldn't take less money to stay in Seattle.

Love it when fans think their team/city isSOgreat that athletes should pass up millions of dollars to play there.

Eh it sucks, but I am not losing sleep over it. We can find another receiver to drop catchable balls that won't cost us over 6m a year. We do need another WR, but with Harvin and Baldwin I feel like thats a decent core for the type of offense we play.

We resign Jacoby Jones and five minutes later the team's website is slammed with traffic. Dude's popular. Pretty surprised we managed to get him back, but I'm glad. Dynamic returner and showed he can be a viable #3 WR. The Kubiak connection might have helped too.

It's okay Tate played well for Seattle this year but he is hardly irreplaceable. I wish him luck. Hope he enjoys watching the playoffs from the stands next year.

Browns setting some kind of record I think.
Browns leak their own free agent board during presser.

Yeah....Dolphins still have a ways to go to reach that level of shit. Luckily were headed on right path and will eventually get there.

I think Harbaugh had Baalke bring in Gabbert as a project for himself and his prestige as a QB teacher and developer. If he makes the roster Harbaugh will let him take preseason snaps and tout him as a solid backup who could be a starter on another team. You cant really be excited about it as a fan at face value, but if Gabbert does have ANYTHING, Harbaugh will get it, and if he is even half the player scouts thought he could be before he was drafted, he would be a pretty serviceable backup.

Thank the lord Niners got rid of Whitner. Barnwell even said he was probably responsible for almost every blown pass play the 49ers gave up. Not only that but he has been at the top of the league in penalties and roughness, getting flagged 5 times last year alone. His replacement, Antoine Bathea, has had 2 Uroughness penalties in the past EIGHT seasons. He is also much better in pass coverage, whilst not losing much in run stoppage.

Him and Eric Reid is solid as fuck as far as the back-end is concerned. The cornerback situation...not so much. Chris Culliver is kind of bad, and Tremaine Brock is raw and inexperienced. I kind of like the Jonathan Martin signing though. A backup RT behind Anthony Davis, still only like 25 years old. I like what the Niners have done thus far, and they still are near the top of the league with 16 draft picks.

That Eric Reid draft pick is looking even better at this point given whats happened in FA this year.

But yeah, Broncos are going to have a vastly better defense. No more shitty Champ Bailey hobbling around in coverage. Now they have Talib back there, with Von Miller and Ware rushing the edges....holy shit.

With Kaepernick and Blaine gabbert taking turns nursing a 6-3 lead, I think the 49ers are a shoe-in for the Superbowl
