If one of the 3 QBs drops to #8, I still think we should take him (and then let them compete with Cassel for the starting job), but I'm okay with this, too, given the other options. It does seem like they're preparing to take a LB with that #8 pick...or trade down. Spielman has done a good job of drafting the last few years, so I trust him to make good decisions on draft day.Really don't mind Cassel being this team's QB for a couple years either.
I agree with this strategy completely. Take any of the top 3 of they are there at 8, otherwise I trust Rick to make the right call with trading down or whatever. If one of the 3 QBs drops to #8, I still think we should take him (and then let them compete with Cassel for the starting job), but I'm okay with this, too, given the other options. Cassell is competent and serviceable for a rebuilding effort. It's really hard to hate on the guy. He's genuinely enthusiastic about football and tries his best. A real likable fellow.Really don't mind Cassel being this team's QB for a couple years either.
Yes. Browner is a great corner. Him comboed with Revis you guys would have a good defensive secondary, at least at the corners. I wish the Seahawks would be able to resign him, but salary cap concerns make that a fantasy.looks like browner had a good interview with the patriots but -according to his agent- despite rumors last night that the pat's signed him- not signed- as of yet. now if the patriots got browner - he has a 4 game suspension to serve- after game 4, the patriots might just have a great pass defense..at least at the corners.
Yeah I don't get this at all either, especially since they were meeting with Thurmond as well.I have no clue why we signed Chris Cook to a one year deal. Wasn't he ranked dead last among CBs last year? I really hope this is a special teams move.
And now we didn't resign Brown. Apparently he accepted a one year deal with the Raiders for 3.5m. Reports are that we had a 3yr/10m dollar offer on the table, but his entire contract is guaranteed in Oakland. Seems completely retarded and pisses me off, seeing as he was the one defensive player I was pretty adamant that we resign.Yeah I don't get this at all either, especially since they were meeting with Thurmond as well.
He's got the injury concerns too I think.Nicks seems like a big risk on a one year deal, must be a rental. Seemed like the guy has the Darrelle Revis approach to being loudly unhappy with his contract just without the same level of skill at his position. Not at all surprised that Coughlin was done with him.
