Hell, the Raiders have been the shit team of the AFC West for most of the past decade, yet they went undefeated in the division in 2010(yet still didn't make the playoffs). Divisional games are weird, it's almost like college rivalry games, throw out the record when the games are played, that shit is personal.

You can't fix stupid. As much as I love having his talent on the team, I wouldn't mind if they decided to cut ties with Aldon Smith.
There's no doubt that he's a sack machine, but many of his sacks are due to the work of Justin Smith and teams with horrible offensive lines(Bears, Cardinals, etc.). If you watch 49er games with any regularity, it doesn't take long to notice how quickly Aldon Smith quits on plays. If he doesn't immediately get into the backfield, he just stops trying. Our defense was just fine when he was off the field this last season(we had a 5 game win streak while he was gone). He's quickly becoming far more trouble than he's worth.

Seriously, he's going to go to Minnesota and Zimmer will turn him into the badass he could be.

That would actually be a good place for Aldon Smith to land, Jared Allen could mentor him for a little bit before he retires. Jared got into some legal trouble early in his career(DUIs) and could offer some sage advice on straighting out your personal life for the sake of your career if Aldon would listen. The Chiefs originally decided not to re-sign Jared Allen because of his off the field issues, it was too risky to give him big money in their opinion. Basically the same boat Aldon is in right now.

Hey, Mike Singletary worked wonders on Vernon Davis, essentially turning his career around, so I definitely wouldn't be shocked. One of the few things Singletary ever gave us.

EDIT: 49ers signed Brandon Lloyd to a 1-year deal and while it's nice to see Lloyd back in a 49ers uniform(he was one of the few decent players, back during our near decade long stint of awful), I question how much a guy who didn't play a single snap last year can add.

Let's keep in mind that all the dude did was make a sarcastic comment to a TSA agent with no sense of humor. This isn't exactly on the level of getting into a gang shootout or even punching somebody. If he say, was seen dragging his unconscious wife around a hotel that might be more worthy of discussion.

Well the issue is its just another example of poor judgement piled on top of his long list of other issues. He has multiple pending criminal charges against him, this guy should be laying low and making 0 mistakes.

If this event was stand alone I wouldn't care one bit, just like I don't care about how Kaepernick is being beat up by the media and the public for...having sex?

I don't get what everyone else is expecting people to do over the whole Aldon Smith thing. I mean were the 49ers supposed to instantly cut him after this reported incident? Like all other fans wouldn't be clamoring for their team to take a flyer on a guy like that should he get cut.

Are 49ers fans suppose to stop rooting for their team because Aldon Smith is still on it? EVERY team either currently has, or has previously kept a talented problem child on their roster. Let's not pretend the Eagles only JUST found out about D-Jaks (alledged) gang ties and instantly decided to cut him. That was a football decision.

I know that feel bro. People are unfairly stereotyping my team all the time too.

Does 49 refer to the number of felonies the 49ers are going to amass this season?

the worst part of the kaeperape case is that this is going to play out FOREVER with only speculation.
Actually it's not. It was a complete jump to conclusion by TMZ that spread like cancer. Kaepernick left the hotel and the chick wouldn't leave, so the other players called 911. Cops showed up and she was passed out, so the police called for an EMT. From there it turned into a character assassination from PFT and ESPN, which is where we stand today.

Meanwhile, in Kansas City, Alex Smith was reported to be using his breaks from suiting up as the Easter bunny at local malls to visit children hospitals where he cured all of their cancer by just touching their hands.
