I consider all football players who aren't quarterbacks or kickers to be little more than wild animals who happen to have a physical gift. If it were legal I'd encourage keeping them caged up in the stadiums between games a la gladiators.

Sutekh why are you constantly such a whiny bitch? All you do on this board is cry about refs, cry about players, and cry about other posters on the board.

Man you sure showed me.

It means a lot coming from the guy who's been crying about the unfair media portraying his rapist, felonious players in a bad light for the past month.

Like 10 guys in the NFL got arrested for violence last year including one murder. All I'm saying is that Smith is small potatoes for the amount of attention he's getting in this thread.

When a team has another Rae Carruth on it's roster get back to me. That was NFL pieceofshittery at it's zenith.

Hernandez was pretty bad as well (or at least certainly looks that way). The difference was that the Pats released him immediately.

I dont think the issues in this thread are with Aldon Smith himself. It's with his team's lack of action surrounding him. And when you get into a discussion like that it will inevitably end up focusing on the character of the player in question, as a way to determine whether or not a release is necessary.

Hey, at least he didn't murder the mother of his child and then commit suicide in the parking lot of the stadium in front of all the coaches and the GM... GO CHIEFS! :/

I will ask this again, what are they supposed to do?

Suspend or release him and they will be at a competitive disadvantage because they are either a.) without one of their top pass rushers or b.) another team will pick him up. You think the Seahawks wouldn't love to get Aldon Smith on the cheap thinking "Pete Carroll and a change of scenery might turn it around for him" should the 49ers boot his ass? I guarantee Seahawks fans wouldn't give two shits about his DUI, "gun charges," or fuckups with the TSA the first time he pile-drives Kaepernick into the ground should that happen (for reference, see Marshawn Lynch). But they love pile on San Fran now because Aldon Smith is still on their roster.

This is a league wide symptom because teams simply cannot take the high-road with these talented individuals and remain competitive. If you think that winning shouldn't be that important then you shouldn't be bagging on the 49ers, you should be bagging on the NFL.

*edit: Something else to keep in mind when being upset about a team's "lack or action" is that a lot of the discipline they are allowed (or not allowed) to divvy out has been collectively bargained so a teams hands can be tied in that respect, leaving them with little choice but to allow said player to remain on the roster or to cut him or face grievance issues from the PA.

The league office exists to take that kind of decision away from the teams because yeah, it's hard to just unilaterally cut a talented player because he's too braindead to stop getting arrested. Eventually Goodell will just let the police blotter get long enough and use it to hammer the union into accepting an even stricter player conduct policy. Football is too popular to just start dressing bench players in suits like the NBA did when the thug culture got out of control there.

Some kind of insane zero tolerance policy for felony arrests? Maybe lose an entire season on the first one. It's guilty before innocent all the way, but who cares? The NFL isn't the courts. No one is going to feel bad for Aldon Smith blowing away his chance at a big payday because he's one of the biggest retards walking the earth. There's literally no downside for the NFL in terms of public opinion.

I read somewhere, a bay area journalist named Kawasomething said that he had talked with his 'sources' and said there was no way A.S. was going to suit up for the 9ers in 2014.

Maybe not, but they have no problem giving them 25 million dollar contracts.

Goodell can already punish whoever he wants whenever he wants and all appeals go to him.

Why do people try to apply reason to the humor of this thread? Niners fans have become insufferable cuntrags, so when one of their guys does anything we can latch on to and shit on them about we are absolutely going to shit on them about it.

Folks here outside of Seahawks/Rams fans(are there any local Cards fans?) don't actually give a fuck about all this 49ers drama faggotry. We give a fuck about shitting on awful Niners fans.

The fact they keep raping people, shooting at them, and attempting to bomb airplanes just makes it stupidly easy.

Also their coach is a spastic cunt. And the team hasn't actually won anything in like 25 years but the cuntrag fans act like an NFC championship is the same as 10 super bowls.
