The QB discussion is so weird this year. I think Teddy is without question the best of the three, but obviously not everyone agrees. He was just so accurate under pretty much any situation in college. I don't see how that doesn't translate.I don't see any other QBs worth a 1st round pick outside of those two, and the Chiefs really have no ammo to move up higher with no 2nd round picks. Actually, they'd like to move back and get multiple 2nds for giving up their 1st, but I'm not sure that strategy is going to get you a decent QB, unless you really like Bridgewater or Carr
This whole post makes me sad. I really don't want Manziel to be a Chief, and I don't want them to pay A. Smith 17 mil. Maybe if he had bigger hands.Word around Kansas City is that the Chiefs and Alex Smith have not been able to come to terms yet on a new contract. Rumor is that Alex wants 17mil a year, he currently gets 8, and the Chiefs are offering around 10-12. His current one is done after this season and he's a free agent. Chiefs could be looking to draft a QB fairly high this year. They draft 23rd overall in the 1st round, but have no 2nd round picks(due to Smith trade).
So they are basically hoping that somehow Manziel or Bortles falls in the first round like Aaron Rogers did several years ago, he was taken 24th.

Seattle has a lot of money tied up in their 2 big DB's now. Not that they aren't worth it, but it's crazy how much those 2 are going to make.Seahawks, Richard Sherman, agree on new deal | Seahawks Blog | Seattle Times
Sherman and Seattle agree on a new deal. I can now breathe again. I was worried they wouldn't be able to get this done.
Yeah and Russ is going to get paid as soon as he can renegotiate his contract. Also Chancellor got his big pay day during last year's off season too.Seattle has a lot of money tied up in their 2 big DB's now. Not that they aren't worth it, but it's crazy how much those 2 are going to make.
I would be shocked if we lost that game. This team is very different from the one that needed that gift from the replacement refs 2 seasons ago. If we lose 2 games at home this year it will probably be to divisional opponents.I can think of one loss right of the top of my head, the very first game.
here let me quote you.I would be shocked if we lost that game. This team is very different from the one that needed that gift from the replacement refs 2 seasons ago. If we lose 2 games at home this year it will probably be to divisional opponents.
That would be funny as fuck.Going to be hilarious when the refs make an example out of Seattle and call every PI and illegal move by the DB's and they rack up 500 penalty yards in week 1.
Yeah that is the big problem with QB's right now. They are far and away the most critical piece to the team, and if you find one that is pretty damn good you are going to have to pay him big bucks. I don't think Kaepernick is worth that much either, but I would rather then 49ers pay him than take the risk of finding another suitable QB.I don't think Smith is worth 17 million but then again neither are the majority of the QBs making that kind of money. Drafting is a big gamble. If the QB doesn't work out enjoy being a dumpster fire for years to come.
what a hot take. so fresh.Yeah that is the big problem with QB's right now. They are far and away the most critical piece to the team, and if you find one that is pretty damn good you are going to have to pay him big bucks..
Jay Cutler and the Bears fucked up the QB pay scale bad. Yeah, your Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, etc are worth 18-22 million a year, like they all get now. Then Cutler comes along and the Bears give him 17 million per year. Fuck, Cutler isn't a top 5 QB, he's probably not a top 10 QB. But if I'm Alex Smith I'm looking over at Cutler and seeing that he's no better than I am, so why shouldn't I get 17 mil a year to. The Bears basically set the bar at 15-17mil per for any QB that could arguably be in the top half of the league. Blech. That's a lot of salary cap space to devote to a player that is probably not good enough to make the pro bowl most years.I don't think Smith is worth 17 million but then again neither are the majority of the QBs making that kind of money.
