Hughes defensive metrics aren't bad. He made a point to work on his D game over the last two summers.

I don't want him even at 50% retained., which the Rags would never do. I'd rather try for Stamkos or see if a deal can be made for Marner.

So this Serg move was actually pretty good. Sergachev was an 8.5m hit.
Moser has comparable stats to Serg on a much worse team. We also get a 2nd round pick next year or something and Conor Geekie just became our #1 prospect. I know Stamkos will be testing free agency on Monday but even if he's gone things are looking decent enough for Lightning with all the added cap space. Hopefully, all of this is to navigate a smoother rebuild as the Stamkos/Hedman era comes to its twilight.
