Arms sitting at 78 on metacritic, seems about what I expected. Would probably be fun for awhile and the turn boring fast, like most fighting games

I thought we were talking about having a baby at 43 though. Teenagers will make you crazy at any age

Why not both? I'm over 40, this parenting shit is just fuckign exhausting.

Surprised about Arms. I actually thought that looked like a lot of fun.

Arms was the only 1-2 switch minigame worth a damn, so they took it and made a whole game out of it and left 12$ to rot. It's probably shallow because of that.

1 at 43 isn't going to be worse than 3 at 30. You guys crazy

Oh to be young again.

Remember when your parents would tell you something like, "Just wait until you are older.... you will understand".

This is one of those moments buddy :)

Yeah, I don't think a baby would bother me too much, but I'd be on the wrong side of 60 before they even graduated high school. These are my selfish years and I'm not sure I want to spend them changing diapers and dropping someone off at the movies/mall until I die. Never say never and all that, but I'm in a good spot to enjoy the rest of my life, travel, etc. and most of it would come to a screeching halt with another little one around.

Anyway, back on topic. Switch stock is hitting everywhere in the next few days so if you are looking for one now is probably a good time. Every Walmart/Target in the area just got them in and the one I was just in has 8 of them. Some of the Targets seem to be holding them until Sunday, but if istocknow has them listed at Walmart then it's a really good chance they are actually on the floor.

Yeah I MAY grab one in a few years. Depending on how Xenoblade and Mario is received. There is literally NOTHING else on the horizon that screams out why I would want this thing. A bunch of indie games and Wii U ports don't do it.

I've found that being a few years behind on consoles has become preferable to me. I dove into the Wii U a couple years ago and was able to pick up all the must-haves for cheaply and that lasted me about a year. Now I've got a recently-acquired PS4 so I'm enjoying going through those greatest hits. That should easily last me until next year (or even later) when the Switch will actually be worth picking up.

I'll wait for arms to get cheaper, sounds like a fun game but I'm pretty sure I'll get bored with it fast

So the Switch has been in stock all day on Gamestop. Plus I am now seeing a lot on shelves. Now is the time we see if it sells still at this point.

A few things that would definitely send me over the edge would be a game selection. Rocket League, Xenoblade Chronicles remastered, and I hope Xeno 2 is good but have doubts because X sucked balls. Mario Odyssey possibly but I still haven't beat the other ones yet on Wii U. And even then, none of those games are coming out any time soon. Everything else is just more Wii U ports and Indie games. Never was able to get into Smash Brothers. I still don't know why that game is so popular.

Yeah the Wii U Marios were not my favorite, but Odyssey is looking to be more like Galaxy or 64.

I really liked Mario Maker but not being able to make a world map where levels are connected, having secret paths, etc. really killed it for me

Yeah seems like both US and Japan getting some big Switch shipments this weekend to gear up for ARMs.

Supposed GameStop leak is Mario Odyssey releases November 17 (obviously the game is launching before Black Friday), and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is Feb 2018.

I need Punch Out on the damn thing! The WiiU had lag and Sandman would kick my ass. I couldnt time them fucking uppercuts. Its a bit harder to beat at 40. At 12 years old, no problem, 40, problem!

The switch price has went up at all my usual stores.

I got mine for 300€ mid march, the same store is now selling it for 329€, which is the also the price of my local games store.. I don't understand this.

You live in a shithole country that uses a little cylon raider symbol to denote currency instead of the almighty bifurcated S?

I spent the afternoon with my nephew showing him how the Switch works and playing some Mario Kart and he absolutely loves it. The Smart Steering even has my niece enjoying the game, and the little joy cons are a pretty good size for 6 and 7 year old hands. On the plus side the Switch itself is really sturdy and feels expensive, and for this one at least, the joy cons slid into it fine and fit snugly. The screen is also pretty nice and Zelda actually looks pretty good on it. It's also head and shoulders above the Wii U in terms of UI and the updates took less than a couple of minutes.

Having said that, these few hours have firmly cemented the fact that, for me, it's a useless machine for anything other than TV use and will, without question, require a pro controller to get any enjoyment out of it at all. The joy cons are so fucking tiny that any game that requires more than a couple buttons would kill my hands with long term use. It actually made me think of The Jerk, when he invents the Opti-Grab that later turns everyone cross-eyed. I can literally feel the arthritis setting in when using the joy cons, and this is from someone who owned a 3DS and Vita. The included plastic joy con controller holder, while better, feels like cheap shit you'd find in a budget console from Vietnam. Neither the separate joy cons, the joy con plastic holder, nor the joy cons attached to the system were comfortable at all. They either designed it for children or the Japanese, certainly not for men with average to large sized hand. I also want to punch the fucker who designed the joy con strap/grip accessory. They are near impossible to get off (yes, I put them on the right way) and there is no way in hell my nephew will ever be able to do it. I told him not to mess with it unless his dad or I are around because even my sister couldn't get them off.

He couldn't be happier, though, so that's all that matters. It seems like it's perfectly suited for him. He can play in the man cave on the big tv, and then take it to his room to play a bit before bed or on trips in the car. I'll get one eventually, but I'm not going to drop the $400+ dollars required to make it a useful machine until there is a hefty amount of games I want to play on it. I'm thinking Christmas '18 will be a good time to jump in.
