No, a president shouldn't give his opinion on it - period. It's not a fucking state secret here. It's a fucking movie.

Now if he wanted to express his opinion on the hacked emails or whatever then so be it. But publicly saying Sony should check with him first about how they run THEIR business, fuck that.
What is this shit? Of course he can have an opinion and state it, Sony screwed up, had to call in the fed's, too late I may add. It's now a national security issue of course I want the President to say something. Not sure what world you're living in.

He didn't say Sony should check with him first about how they run their business.

Obama criticises Sony for film move - Yahoo News UK

"I wish they had spoken to me first," he said of Sony executives at a year-end news conference in which he added: "We cannot have a society in which some dictatorship someplace can start imposing censorship..."

That fact that a silly movie spurred this situation is completely irrelevant. There is absolutely nothing in existence so trivial that I would be okay with North Korea threatening me and telling me I couldn't do it. Nothing.

yea, when its a fucking international incident, Its fine for the president to comment on it. Even scarier, he's entirely right. I don't agree with obama on much, but this is certainly one of those times.

Whatever. They pulled the movie. That is their business and their business only. The president doesn't need to comment on how a company runs it's business. He can comment on the hack, legal issues involved or even fucking threats. But he should shut his fucking mouth when it comes to how a company runs it's own business as long as it's legal. This coming from someone who couldn't run a lemonaide stand.

You are a dipshit Borzak. This was a threat from another country against a company with many holdings in the US. It touches on national security.

Get over your Obama derangement.

I don't care who the fuck it was, what Sony does concerning their business - is their business and not his as long as it's legal. Man hasn't worked one day in a for profit setting in his life.

When the business overlaps with National Security and now is dependent on the Gov't to fix the problem it sure as shit is his right to comment. We get you don't like Obama, must have voted for Romney, oh wait.

I find it hilarious North Korea chose a movie to flex their hacking skills. Most of the world was still sleeping on them being able to do this kind of thing abroad. You would think they would wait to show their hand on a more serious target.

Hint: It wasn't really North Korea.
Yeah this isnt the usual suspects. This is par for the course for NK.

Im sure they would of done it for Team America but the capabilities/opportunities didnt exist back then.

I'm pretty well convinced this was a coup from within their own IT departments or a former employee.

Most security experts outside the government have said the same thing, and the government is usually wrong when it comes to this stuff.

Nobody believes that NK has some militant sleeper cell in the US waiting to kick into gear as soon as the movie starts playing. Sony doesn't want it released because they're worried even more embarrassing "racist" emails will be leaked, while the big theater chains don't want to open themselves up to potential litigation no matter how minor the risk.

Best idea I've heard is for Sony to release it for free all over the internet as a big "F-U" to North Korea, but again they won't do so because they know the hackers have a tons of embarrassing/incriminating info that they haven't yet released.
This and only this.
There is nothing more to add.

Even if it isn't NK, even if it is some citizen of the US doing it, its still terroristic threats and a national security issue. I don't think it is tolerable to set a precedent that some fuckheads behind a computer can dictate what we are allowed to see through threats.

you are wrong on this one, some thug gets shot because he is a thug, yeah butt the fuck out mr president. another country attacks this country's american media via cyber terrorism. a comment is completely valid. and most of all this is shit he should be talking about.

They have been hacking South Korea for years and it's not like Sony had an especially hard firewall to crack. You guys act like North Korea couldn't have an elite hacking team, with years of help from China. I have no problem in believing they could be behind it, who knows what crazy Kim ordered, someone should ask Dennis Rodman.

This would be a fine time to release Modern Warfare: North Korea for the PS4, so we could all assassinate that fucker....they would make millions off that shit.
