Cant wait to see this. I will say Dafoe already had his Nosferatu masterpiece, it was called Shadow of the Vampire. It was amazing.
Amen. I guess I mentioned that earlier and it really is a wonderful movie and pretty underappreciated. I don't think it did very well, I was definitely more of an art house project. Wasn't it Herzog who directed it? I know I go look it up but I'm being lazy.

It was Elias Merhige. Apparently he mostly did short films and music videos.

I could only remember. I think Herzog actually did a remake of the original Nosferatu and maybe that's where I was getting confused.

Apparently he might be doing a Labyrinth reboot. If it's true that's pretty fucking out of left field. I guess I at least trust him enough to make something entertaining, and probably a hell of a lot darker. He'll probably have Willem Dafoe play whatever Bowie's character was. And probably have the VVitch chick play the protagonist. That or maybe Robert Pattinson will be David Bowie's character.

Pass. Why the fuck would I want a dude who does reboots of folklore do a reboot of an original idea of Jim Henson that is.perfectly fine as it is.

Yeah if it's true I'm not necessarily excited about it. That's why I said it's pretty far out of left field. Do I hope that he can make something pretty interesting, absolutely, but I would prefer something different.

He'd probably knock it out of the park if he did something like the shadow over innsmouth or another famous Lovecraft story. I don't typically get boners for movies, but something like that would definitely give me wood. I knew he does historical stuff, but I'd be curious if you did something in science fiction, and that could be something pretty neat.

Well, sitting in the theater right now and due to the storm it knocked the power out. Currently got theater lights but several theaters have no picture but have sound. Completely took me out of the experience. Got to Dafoes first appearance and was yanked out of the experience.

Saw it.
It's pretty.
It's bad.
It's pretty bad.

I'm not even certain what the game plan was for this movie... Take all the cool qualities of Dracula and remove them. Do nothing with the Bram Stoker source material (which is not that great anyway... He's never was a Melville). Have Nosferatu resurrected so that he can have an obsession with Frida Khalo. And she, for no reason at all (except maybe wokeness) has supernatural suffering-chick powers. I won't say more because it would be spoilers.

But this isn't a spoiler:

the movie is too long... Characters talk TOO LOUDLY and toooooo slowly... And with an overabundance of hyperbole (but say nothing).

It's another big budget meaningless piece of crap.

And "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle."
Which one of you liked that movie?

I've only seen about half of it and I thought it was pretty funny, but it was in that weird stage of humor in a time trying to walk the line between Airplane slapstick, and maybe something like American Pie, then mixed with stoner humor. Probably some other better comparisons but that's all I can think of off the top of my head, and like I said I only saw about half the film, but the person I did see was pretty fun.

Just got out of it and I loved it. Even with the storm delay which we're now under tornado warning till 2am.

Great job building the dread and horror. The movie didn't remind the audience it's a movie either. I also like how it kept pretty close to the original. It could have been a little shorter but I'm ok with it's run time. First horror movie I've been to in decades that got the blood flowing and had an amazing jump scare.

Overall, fantastic movie. Best horror movie I've seen in many years.

You're not in Texas are you? We had tornado warnings here in Houston yesterday and another one middle afternoon today. Sonny's guys after noon, and was planning on going fishing, but then suddenly all hell broke loose. Had some pretty hardcore storms roll in the past couple of days. Just wondering. I'm sure all of that stuff is shifting East at this point.

This did cap it off as one of the best years for horror.

I loved the concept that vampires are harbingers of disease and that plague and death follows them wherever they go.

Seeing a city go from bustling to filled with rats and the dying to barren of life was so fucking cool.
