Vader has an understandable fear of fire.
i remember the first time I saw that movie, I didn't know who he was and I just thought "holy shit how did the casting director find a guy who looks and sounds just like Ice Cube, plus is a decent actor?"

and a fireproof suit of armor. think I'm keeping my rating at a 6.5, the acting was improved a bit but the Inquisitors are not Sith, you don't murder your way up the chain of command. Only way that part of it is salvaged is if in the final episode Palpatine tears Vader a new one for mismanaging the Inquisitors.

yeah, i don't know... if we are talking about someone like the hound from game of thrones, yes, he's got an understandable fear of fire and it's part of his character... but once you add in the whole darkside and fear and rage being such a big part of it... i get the feeling that darth vader isn't afraid of fire. he's too angry to be afraid of it. his rage kept him alive on mustafar in the first place.
i don't know, man... the whole episode felt contrived, especially the end... vader and reva both had jason vorhees levels of teleporting around.
i also don't like this whole instantaneous travel thing they've been doing. in a new hope when they hire han solo, they spend a significant amount of time traveling in the falcon, but now, people are traveling from system to system in a few minutes.

He literally blew the flames out moments beforehand. No reason he couldn't blast them away and crumple the droid + obi at the same time with a single move. Space wizards getting stuck on plot armor sucks. Capture + torture followed by a lucky escape would have been preferable to "ohnoes fire bad" to wrap the end of that fight. Cheapens the strongest force user in the galaxy by a lot.

Vader was a little bad but Reva teleporting to the end of that escape tunnel was some Iron Fleet level bullshit. I thought she was gonna kill that sand slut and Leia was just gonna have to escape on her own.

I really tried to like the episode and it wasn't without its good parts, but it really came off like they segment the writers into two groups:
Group A, you come up with some nifty Star Warsy things in isolation.
Group B, you connect up the nifty Star Warsy things with plot and dialogue and stuff.
Group B:
I did enjoy the echoes of the Bespin duel with Vader and Luke, but WTF...Vader literally can't use the same Force trick twice inside of 20 seconds? I was waiting for a depleted Force Meter to appear up in the corner as the camera zoomed out to an angry Twitch streamer.

oh so it is wednesdays then, a lot of people were saying it moves to fridays this week.
i enjoyed episode 1 & 2, even with the shitty chase scenes, but episode 3... woof. So dumb.
Struggling with opening a gate, overhead shots of flat empty land on both sides of the laser gate you can just walk through.
Why the fuck are we on California planet, this looks so terrible
the fights were god awful, Vader coulda extinguished the flame (HE LITERALLY DID IT 10 SECONDS AGO) force pulled the spy, the robot, and obi to him
The tunnels are quantum entangled or something to allow anyone to exit anywhere and to shrink and expand in size at will
Can we commit to being evil? Vader slaughtering everyone would be neat, then the Inquisitors joining him. Instead we get this weird "uh should we be evil too? No? Ok just walk around and push people around I guess."
They should have had Dr. Strange cameo in the first episode and pop into an alternate universe because Leia interacting with more and more people makes it impossible to really accept this show takes place in the same time line as A New Hope.

Yeah I'm generally pretty easy going when it comes to these shows, but this episode was really irritating, especially as James Earl Jones sails in to give you a full nerd boner and then a minute later the show clamps down on your dick with its teeth. It's clunky fan fiction that scrounged up a few actual Star Wars actors. It's not even as if it's unsalvageable, which almost makes it worse. Why not simply have Vader attempt to wave away the flames again just to have struggling Obi Wan finally summon some Force powers to keep them going for however many seconds they need to get him out of there? Instead, we get Vader standing there like a fucking dunce. The only thing that could have made it worse is if they had remembered to mix in "Noooooooooooo!"

Not taking up for him, but he's a classically trained actor.
In the N.W.A. movie Straight Outta Compton, they had Eazy-E's son in consideration at first to play the young Eazy. They cut him because he wasn't a trained actor, and Ice Cube's son got to keep his role playing his father because he could handle the dramatics.
He's not just Ice Cube's son. He took acting seriously-- however that pays off for him I don't know. I just know he's a trained actor and went through schooling for it.

Also you all take this shit so seriously. Being a pot head has its benefits I guess. I've been enjoying this so far. I do agree that Reva is easily the worst casting so far. One of the times where casting lesser known actors/actresses hurt them.

I am not sure if they will expand on it, but based on how hard it was for him to force pull leia when she fell (literally looked like he was gonna have a stroke) I think he like Luke, "cut" himself off from the force or and so is a bit weakass when it comes to Lightsaber + force shit. I imagine this is also why qui gonna isnt showing up. I imagine eventually he reverses it and then get quigonn + Super Mode to beat Vader.
