rumor is the ending for season 1 (episode 6) was edited to keep Reva alive for season 2 after the initial numbers just blew away every other D+ show to date

lol we get what we deserve

i thought this was a one and done mini series, its already down to low 50% fan score on RT. below Book of Boba Fett. these people always jump the gun before waiting to see how it plays out. i will wait til this is over and then post the spoilers of how it initially was supposed to end. if these changes to the end really happens, then it fucks up her planned story arc, how they think they can rework that in 3 weeks is gonna be lollercoasters. i bet the original ending scene ends up being leaked anyway.

Like Obi-Wan just told Leia before this shot, they are obviously on approach to this planet. So why are the rear thrusters still on?! Stupid fucking sci-fi show.

.

"These are not the droids you are looking for" I guess Obi-wan doesn't remember he can use mind trick for another 10 years.. multiple places he could have used it, wtf.

I assume there were too many on the transport to use it

A season two of Obi Wan that continues the rivalry with Vader only further dilutes ANH, lol

Combination of bad writing or directing. Ok when Tala opened the door it showed there was multiple paths, so it's possible she went another way to meet up with obi-wan and not bump into Reva, but how did she and the Loader know he would be at that spot with vadar though? who knows. How do they explain Reva getting ahead to the end of the tunnel to meet Leia? other than Tala was leading Leia down the longest way out? and Reva took a shorter route because she certainly didn't get past Leia, but her first time through there how did she know where to go? I guess her powers sniffed that out for her? But of course they wanted to show some "surprise" moments in the end, instead of showing some extra seconds of scenes to explain stuff so the pay off moments wouldn't look so stupid.

Vader doing random evil stuff to draw out Obi-wan like Reva did with the knife to the bar person I guess? Which he didn't need to do since he could sense Obi-wan really well going by the chase scenes.

Laser gate lol, it's to stop vehicles, people/troopers can still walk around it, but they didn't get back in the truck so wtf?

Can only hope it's gets better because they won't have a Mandalorian and baby yoda to save them from bad episodes this time.

Writing. Directing.

It's all splitting hairs, when this is an episode featuring fucking Vader. It should have been handled with kid gloves, and it wasn't.

Not only was there scenes missing, but the cinematography/directing and editing they did during the "bring him to me" sequence was NOT on par with even other episodes of Obi-wan.

It was fucking jarring. This isn't about teleporting and bad writing, there is more going on here. The final 10 minutes was shoddy and sloppily put together, including how they shot the entire Vader arrival and sequence. There just wasn't any F&F careful handling of introducing a feature character. See the introduction of Luke in Mandalorian for more details.

Just everything about it sucked fucking ass. I put it on Chow-- whether it was because she had to follow the script to a T or not. She either wittingly or unwittingly turned out a garbage fucking sequence in those last 10 minutes that put it below TLJ and made a horses ass out of Vader.

I can't believe I'm saying this considering my contempt for foh big brains and the general intellect level of the tv/movie regulars, but I feel like we could crowd develop a better star wars series

If you only knew the power of the Dark side.

Recent quote from Chow:

"It was exciting, and it was also a huge responsibility. These are two of the most iconic characters not just in Star Wars, but I think in cinematic history. So there's a responsibility that comes with them. We really wanted to respect that but, at the same time, it was incredibly exciting getting to tell a new story at a different point in their lives.""

Clearly...

Oh shit, that "but" is probably a direct quote from a Kennedy memo. Also ive seen that corporate line used for other products before. We know you guys loved this "thing" for your entire life and thats great, but now its time to go in a different direction and we expect you to love this too. You have no choice.

Well the general populace here is what SHOULD be the target demographic for Star Wars/sci-fi in general, you know the 30-50 male audience.

I think it's real easy to point the finger at chow, she's the director after all. And don't take this as me defending her... But I think it's more complicated. The big tent pole products like marvel, star wars, etc. are all run by committee and I don't think you can blame any one person.

Being the director of your own IP is one thing, being the director of an episode of star wars tv show is a completely different thing.

I would bet money that chow has no ACTUAL oversight on the script, for example. She just has to work with what she's given. Just like basically every individual working on the show. No one person can really do much other than work within very defined and constrained boxes. KK is probably the only exception to that rule.

again I'm not defending chow, she got the job because she's willing to tow the company line, so she definitely deserves some criticism... I'm just saying that there are A LOT of people who are at fault.

No, I specifically looked this up because I thought the same. Ordinarily most TV directors are just executing other people's visions

She's the show runner, so that means that it's her vision/story. Equivalent to D+D on Thrones.

Granted, there is a Disney Star Wars story Council who control the rules of the SW universe but she's not just a hired director

I still don't blame her as the sole reason for the problems, thats all I'm saying. The problems with this show are fundamentally the same as the book of boba Fett.

Obviously as the director and show runner she carries a lot of blame, but the problems with this show are baked into it on every level.

The buck stops with Chow.

You want to white knight her call Gavinmad, he's better at it.
