You could just walk around it, jump over it, or even run through it real quick, since everyone was wearing armor...

I think this is the last project the Kathleen Kenedy Klan had major control over, and it shows in certain areas. I would bet money the Grand Inq getting merced was a specific fuck you to Filoni's continuity from that bitch. The more ridiculous Leia shit is definitely her influence (She is supposedly one of the main pushers if the Short Round character) and I am betting we will be getting even more of this kind of shit (and fucking over Filoni's work) in Ashoka, unless Disney finally gets fully sick of her bullshit. There are elements of a great series here, but I feel like KK's bullshit fucked things up massively in the editting room (see what happend to Abrahms in the two SW movies he directed), because she is known for going in and fucking with the final cut after the director is done. For now, the series is servicable enough to watch with the wife, but its not going to be something I ever rewatch unless it can shed some of the "TLJ" stink it has on it. Also the black inquisitor actress is terrible, but I can't tell if its the one note writing or her ability to act. The fact that she is nailing herself to the cross this early tells me its probably the latter. Rosario Dawson never had to do any of this virtue signalling shit, for a very recent example.

So I noticed right away that Obi-Wan slashing into something and using the smoke to temporarily blind Vader was a callback to Luke's fight with Vader in ESB, I just couldn't remember the exact context. It turns out that Vader sliced into a hose and Luke forced the steam into Vader's face, to which Vader says, "Obi-Wan has taught you well." I'll award 1/2 a point to this nonsense for at least that clever bit of writing.
Actually, on second thought, that demonstrates that at least one of the writers are capable of being creative, which makes the rest all the more inexcusable. 1/2 point withdrawn.

vader wants obi-wan to suffer more. Its a stupid reason but its basically what the writers are going with I assume. He is bizarrely enjoying chasing Obi-Wan and wants him to suffer and fear more before he kills him, because Vader has nothing else going on (other than PAAAAIIIIIN). yeah don't try to think too much about this, like I said makes no sense but its the only "this is how the writers think" reason that makes sense.
also Grand Inquisitor will be back, the whole thing is just a fakeout to get him out of the way for 3-4 episodes. If he was still in the show then Reva wouldn't have a free hand to do whatever stupid shit she is gonna do in the next 3 episodes. With him "in a bacta tank" he can be out of the way this season, be back for future shows (and Rebels), and it will be another dumb "so we replaced his tummy with a garbage compactor" explanation.

Maybe the answer is to have him like Death from the Gauntlet games. Although as I type this I realise that's very similar to the t-800 vibe he had in the last episode.
The answer would probably be a dedicated Vader series immediately post ROTS, showing his Sith training - bring back Macdiarmid and just show dark-side max Vader. Not sure what the canon has him doing this period, but possibly show how he fits with the Empire military. But knowing Disney, they'd probably cast a female Moff that pussywhips him and keeps him in check lol

It's one thing to have him annihilating enemies in battle like in rogue one. It's completely something else (something shitty) to have him slaughter powerless civilians like he is some mustache twirling comic book character. Shits fucking trash.
