A common strategy with him is to build the turret at the start, upgrade to level 2 then repeatedly commit suicide to gain scrap (I think you get 30 when you respawn.) Its a dumb system. Blizzard should look into it.
Yeah that's exactly what i mean. It's such a backwards ass solution for a characters play style. Why not make Torbjorn see 'scrap packs' where all the health locations are, make it only visible to him? then he can actively upgrade shit without having to suicide early in the game to actually get a half functional turret setup.

More importantly it let's him recover his lost turrets way more efficiently.

Also, I think every character but him and symmetra are in good states so far. Those two still feel like they're in awkward places that need some reworking.

So you mean he can't get health packs then? Sounds kinda meh. Unless you mean next to them?

I think the balancing takes into account his ult, but his ult is really hard to build cause his weapon is fucking garbage. It's like a way garbage version of Roadhog weapon, without 600hp and a hook to bring people into the sweet shotgun range. Once you have the ult I'm pretty sure you have infinite scraps, and you build like WAY faster. But the problem is you build ult slow as shit(unless people are like running into your turrets over and over without killing it) and you really want to use the ult to protect your turret during a push, or to protect yourself/kill people who came close, not so you can build your turret in the first place.

I think the big difference is basically you don't have dispenser to build your turret on your own. Maybe you should just gain scrap over time. Also get scraps from allies dying.

I think Symmetra is ok. Not great, but not in a terrible spot. I think they should revert the teleport change, and buff her primary range a little bit and she'd be fine, kinda. Maybe make the sentries immune to splash damage(or have a health bars and take reduced dmg from splash, atm pretty much any fart kills them). They said they're buffing her though. Also said they're nerfing McCree and Pharrah. I think easy nerfs for these would be bullet damage dropoff for McCree, so past a certain range he can't snipe people(he's meant as like some short/mid range bruiser with the alt fire and the stun grenade) and Pharrah easiest nerf would be to reduce how many rockets she has in her magazine, to like 4, so there's more downtime inbetween the rocket barrages and aiming properly matters more.

I will say I think in this game people are trying to play him like an engineer in TF2 and I don't think he really plays that way. You need to turret to be participating in team fights and you need your team to help protect the turret as well. It seems like most players playing Trob are just trying to plant the turret and babysit it like an engineer and I'm not sure that is really the best way to play him.

I definitely was under the impression this would be getting released sooner then later. Streams burned me out after a week, only 8 months to go.

Yeah definitely didn't mean to replace the health packs as a whole, just put some scraps beside them or whatever.

I like the idea of him being able to build a dispenser that would auto generate scraps or something along those lines, that would be pretty good.

Did they ever port 32smooth to TFC? TFC sucked - why would you play that when you could have played qwtf?!

Anyways. 32smooth was the best map.

Why weren't you playing quakeworld team fortress during the same period of time?!

2Fort was my home in TF2. I don't buy the excuse for CTF in Overwatch. There's many solutions they could implement, like flagholder can't use any special abilities, or gains different abilities, or just disables blinking abilities.
Tigole, in an interview, mentioned they wanted to avoid that since it would fundamentally change the gaming experience for people. You either have games full of ultra mobility characters, or you have a game full of nerfed heroes because they are too OP for CTF.

The best format for this game would be hold 3 points like the basic GW2 pvp maps.

A hostage rescue/save the civilian map would work well in this and fit with the Superhero/Supervillain theme they have going on

Unlike a CTF mode, you can limit the hostage's speed to be independent of the hero, so you will need a tank/heal/dps/support to effectively rescue them.

To flip things on their head, you could also do a version of the Escort the VIP maps from way back when. Good guys have to escort a VIP through a map, badguys try to assault and capture the VIP and bring him to a imprisonment point or whatever.

I think some variation on those modes could potentially work well in Overwatch (both thematically and gameplay wise) and help satisfy the CTF itch people have.

They added the last 3 heroes btw. D-Va damage looks really low, but then again it might be a range thing, she's using some sort of shotgun type weapon so probably do more at close range. Mei's alt fire is a pain in the dick to use, it has like a 1sec charge time before it fires, definitely good against frozen targets but using it otherwise is annoying. Genji I don't know, looks good but motherfucker is squishy as hell and his reflect shit is really short.

Edit: After a few games, D-Va definitely needs to be upclose to do any damage, but the gameplay is really fun and she's surprisingly not too bad even out of the mech. She feels like the most mobile tank too since the cd on her charge is so low. Genji is definitely squishy, but hot fuck he can be hard to kill if he's just running away, and his damage output is ridiculous especially in ult form.

Mei fucking troll hero. Asshole walled me off with a bunch of enemies like 3times, blocked my hooks like 4times with random ass walls. Shit's way annoying cause unlike barriers you also have to go around and stuff. Her beam is good if you can keep people in it for a bit, but the range is so low, a lot of the DPS will just outright kill you or force you to iceblock before they freeze. Good if people don't see you or whatever though.

Symmetra got buffed in the patch as well (which seems weird since didn't they say at Blizzcon she was the hero "most likely to win"?) Shield have a shorter cooldown, main attack has a little more range and has a better visual to tell when you are locked on and her turrets got buffed as well: recharge faster, can spam them out faster.

They said they were gonna buff her. She had a high win rate, but probably low amount of games. The shield isn't really a buff since it rarely mattered, it was just annoying to buff people in the early game. Sentry buff is nice but seems small anyway.

McCree is apparently massively nerfed, like you can't kill anything at range anymore it looks like. Pharrah supposedly have much slower rate of fire too but only seen one person mention it.
