Back in the heyday of EQ me and many of my IRL friends that played were some of the best at their class.
I noticed when I was playing P1999 - man I was out of practice, I was still a darn good SK - but I was rusty to my big boy time back in live.
I say this to say - /that/ was part of what made EQ great... sometimes you needed 50 clerics to just press a button at the right time... sometimes you need a super tight group that is really good at their classes.. but you have to have a system that /allows/ that. WOW once BC hit, just seemed like get a Gear Number of X, go online and pick a skill tree combo and hotkey set and press the buttons in the correct order - now you are the same 99% of the time as any other person with X gear set. it was a mere number run.
Not saying EQ was perfect, or WOW has "no skill" - but I just kinda feel there was a bigger "difference" between a half AFK player and a super good player in EQ then WOW - and how does Vanguard seem to be stacking up in that regard?
Because to me, that falls into the "no content" argument - a really tight group of 4 may be able to do what a group of 6 cant do.
