Yeah she quit that job. Whatevs.

In other news, my middle daughter had a dramatic jump is reading ability just all of the sudden. She was pretty much on par for 6 year olds, muddling through easy readers. All of the sudden she's reading really advanced stuff for her age and having no trouble with it. I think probably it has to do with her reading habits, she reads like 30+ minutes every night before bed, she reads every sign or label or picture or whatever going out. I don't know how else to explain it. This happened within like a month.

It clicks, and she started to get really interested in it. It's a good thing.

I really don't know any good books for little girls. I'm sure your wife does, and i'm sure that her teachers do. You do want to provide her with enjoyable stories so that she'll take pleasure in reading. She's six... that attention span can snap right into another direction just as quickly.

There's plenty of time to beat the joy out of her after puberty!

Did you get the alien 3d scan? Are they even still pushing that nonsense?
We opted out last time but since it's only 10 weeks along they can't really do much. I saw the tiny head and saw the heart beating. That was enough for me to get slightly emotional in a weird and corny way.

Gotta vent for a second here.

So we're in our first month of early intervention. He's meeting with people 4x a week. I'm told 'insurance covers this 100%'

Today I get a bill for $1500 for a 17 days. It includes each visit at $90,and some other ones that were like $300 when the team all came here together. Insurance covers $0. So I ask my wife about it and she's all upset telling me they told her insurance covers it. I'm sitting here thinking what the fuck am I gonna do, I can't pay $1500/month for speech therapy.

Called insurance and was on the phone for about an hour with them telling me it's true they don't cover any of it. I'm basically freaking out at this point. They told me there's even more pending charges coming.

It would've been something like a few grand just for the month.

Finally I tell my wife to text the people that work there and tell them to stop coming immediately, this is absurd. I'm yelling how someone clearly didn't do their job checking our insurance, etc.

She said they texted back and said 'remember our first meeting when I said to give us every bill because if insurance doesn't cover it the state does 100% and we facilitate that?'

I wanted to drop kick my wife through the wall when she said' oh yeah they did say something like that '

Haha I told my wife I saw it. She wants a girl.

God. Fuck my life if it's a girl.
First was a girl, we couldn't tell because we'd never seen an ultrasound before.
Second was a boy and that fucker was hung.
Third was a boy and he was not quite a hung.
But it was pretty obvious. The ultrasound tech even apologized because she forgot to ask if we wanted to know for the third one.

First was a boy and 2nd was a boy, and the 3rd due in Feb is a girl. It's gonna be a wild ride!

Edit: wtf... worst parent ever? My 2nd was a girl... not a boy...

This is the sub-conscious telling me I wish it had been a boy... Fuck. Worst parent of the year.

First kid we didn't want to know so until he plopped out we had no idea. So much relief when I saw it was a dude.

This time were finding out. I guess the genetic testing my wife is having done has a near 100% accurate prediction of gender so we will be finding out pretty soon.

Yeah, we had the genetic testing as well since the wife just turned 35.

I don't mind that we're having a girl, but if we go for #2 I'd prefer a boy so we have one of each.

I don't get the not wanting to know thing. Just seems super weird and hinders planning for no gain

There isn't that much planning that it hinders unless you're set on traditional colors/themes for boys and girls.
I definitely want to remove as much "color X is for boys" / "girls don't do Y" when it comes to my daughter.

It hindered nothing for us lol

It pissed family off to no end with the colors. Just buy them yellow or green, it's no big deal. Or buy blue and if it's a girl who cares.

I disagree with Toe and Noodle. Knowing the sex helped me. I started a college fund and a wedding fund when I found out the kid was a female. Hope the SJWs win and the father of the groom, xroom, or whatever in the future pays for the wedding.
