Yea Essence seems totally unbalanced.

This is my tab at lvl 90. Never used one.

yeah, I was going to comment on this before I went to bed last night.
Essence are the deterministic crafting of poe. and they are just woefully under done. its bizarre. they were CREATED to enable leveling crafting. but were just stupid rare in poe 1 too.

its not labeled, so I don't know for sure what league/character this was from. but its a pretty average look at an essance tab from poe1. on a char I likely got bored with around 75-80.

Every single zone past act 1 should have an essence mob in it.

Its pretty obvious how GGG feels about us as players being able to deterministically craft in PoE2.

Just look at these lesser essences

I can’t help but feel like they just going to keep making it more and more like PoE 1 instead of going with methodical high risk/reward gameplay. The super fast enemies and offscreen hitting bullshit does not allow for changes in the direction of something different.

Light radius instead of light rolling? It is right there…give me more I frames instead of that useless fucking stat.

You dedicated a full action to dodge rolling and blocking, make use of it. Blocking feels like a horrible action instead of dodging or attacking, or even just moving away. Even with thorns, fuck ton of points invested in blocking it feels bad to use.

That's not one attempt, that's infinite attempts. Which to be clear is perfectly reasonable as far as I'm concerned, but uh... obviously you guys aren't okay with 1 attempt.
When did I say I was OK going back infinite times? I like the penalty, it gives the feeling of hardcore without bricking your character. I understand it's extremely punishing for new players which is why I suggested the scaling 6 deaths in white maps to 1 in red maps.

Bricking the modifiers on a map though does kind of suck. Not sure I'm ok with that

hmm i put an early neversink loot filter on to play with and i found it to be hiding socket items i want to grind up so i tried to disable it, but i think it's still hiding things. how do you be sure you're off of a loot filter? i reloaded the game, selected no filter, adn unchecked hide things. is there another thing i should do?

You can press Z and bypass the filter to see if anything is being hidden.

The +4 Pinnacles are legit well done and difficult PARTICULARLY with 1 death per try and it takes a long time to farm enough to try without buying. Its hard to slow down a game when the maps are fucking huge though, if they want to slow it down they need to cut that shit down stat.

So far all the bosses are done well, maybe trade in some of the map space and enemy groups for more bosses and mini bosses? Large groups of enemies are the hardest thing to make fun without go fast PoE 1 style attacks anyway.

Him and his radius of friends are a big part of the divine orb bs going on. Dude knows PoE but he was a cancer in PoE 1 too.

Yeah, if GGG had permabanned them all one of the times they got caught exploiting shit the whole game would be a far better place.

In the context of this game, I see red maps mentioned a bunch, but it seems like that's not a thing anymore? There's a red marker starting at tier 6, but there don't seem to be colors associated tiers anymore.

Is this just a holdover from PoE1 and they still mean 11+?

6-10 are yellow. 11+ are red. there's also the corruption stuff. but even the underlying waystone has the white/yellow/red on it.

Oh, dang, now I actually do see that they have white/yellow/red still. It's just incredibly hard to see on those small icons.

I'm running a pure MoM build since I see them nerfing ES soon. It's pretty solid so far, just started mapping and with 1 ex a piece gear have 3k mana with over 300/s regen plus 40% damage recouped as mana.

They're going to nerf the only core defense they gave substantial, no drawback support to on the tree and provide nothing in return.
