My only complaint, and I’m not sure it qualifies at this point, is related to loot and the reinforcement schedule. It isn’t necessarily that the loot is bad but it feels like the small bits are doled out so infrequently, that dopamine hit if seeing a drop is too spaced out. Nothing is trying to condition me to want to do it 1,000 more times. Things like opening a gold chest and not even getting 1 gold drop. Killing the end of Act 3 Boss and seeing nothing but magic items. I’ve only done Tier 1 maps bc we traveled for Christmas. But even a shitty drop would help people say “Damn not this time, make next.” Getting nothing is like “why bother?” The game seems to eschew everything we know about psychology and game design.

Agreed, I got 3 divines in my campaign and then have only seen one more total, mapping from t1-t15s, aside from trading. At most I get a couple exalts and MAYBE an alc or something.....if I'm really lucky maybe a duplicate unique that sucks just as much as the first time it dropped. :(

Loot feels real bad, and we don't have nearly as much control as we did in POE1. I liked being able to spec into strongboxes, or essences, or delirium, etc -> Crossing my fingers that they have a decent plan whenever they come back from holiday and release the next patch.
That interview that was posted with Darth and Johnathan or w/e yesterday pretty much nailed the problem down theoretically. In order for them to not increase the roof of the top end, they have specific events with higher rarity drop chance inside the base campaign for new players / (he called them "bad players" and corrected himself, if you remember the conversation). I think he's onto something by having that stance, because in D4 / D3 - I just wasnt a fan of opening a chest and having to sit there 10-15 seconds and sort through all the different things that dropped, or worse, the chest is like.. lagging or something? So you have to wait for it to spit out shit one by one by one. ... Fuck let me just go kill this pack of monsters and Ill come back to this bullshit.

They could improve the base line loot rarity by a small amount, but I dont think they would be willing to increase the chance high enough in the early parts of the campaign in order to completely get rid of the chance that a chest is empty. BUT, they could code a chest to have a mandatory drop. That way you at least feel like you'll at least get a slap on the ass if you walk over to it, and at best you hit the fucking lotto? But what it sounds like, is that we'll be getting more coded higher rarity events implemented throughout the campaign. Encouraging map exploration, and also preventing people from feeling like theyre "stuck." When in reality, for something like Warrior - its really coming down to .. are you weapon swapping properly, do you know the bosses mechanics, etc. etc. (Versus archer or something where I went through act 1 in like an hour w/o dying as ssf.)

I think another fix would be that they could have some bosses in the early parts of the campaign that just have items that have guaranteed affixes on their drops. You kill Pudge in the very first part of the Act 1, and every single one of the items he drops is at minimum a blue with loot rarity on it. Dont even need to put more bosses into the map, just make the ones that exist already have guaranteed affixes. So at the earliest part of the game, people can do that one field where a destructible item/chest has no loot leading up to Pudge. They kill Pudge, get three blues that are better than the grey upgrades simply based on color and loot rarity - and now they go into the next field with 50% loot rarity and now theyre able to see the difference in whats dropping. They find replacements for all their gear, with no loot rarity and see how powerful loot rarity is and go back towards trying to itemize for loot rarity.

Its just for whatever reason, some shit is itemized to the end game and it makes no fucking sense. Why do you not get loot rarity Necklaces and Amulets till Act 3? Why do you get the Loot Find Charm at level 40 something? Why is the game being so stingy with loot at the beginning, when you actually need it the most? It doesnt make sense.
I wish controller switching to keyboard was a thing. WASD is awesome but starting to hurt my wrist a little.

So far Zero good items to sell! That wand wasnt worth much it seems after all.

I prefer WASD play myself - but I agree. Im too old to be playing for hours like that. I remember getting Booze to come help me kill the Viper bitch because my wrists were fucking killing me and all that dodging and movement on her was fucking agony. lol

Im maddened by not being able to map non alphanumeric keyboard inputs to actions in wasd, but you can in click to move. My mouse thumb buttons are typically set to numpad bullshit

I tried it on ranger for like a minute or two. Then realized I can't do it and dropped ranger like a brick.

Running my warrior through the acts has been quite a more pleasurable experience then merc crossbow. Most likely cause I got super lucky with a massive craft on my 2her in fucking act 2/3 normal that's carrying me. I'm picking up every blue base and id'ing and white weapons and slamming trannies (had to switch to only do white weapons because I ran out of trannies).

Acts 2 and 3 really don't hold a candle to 1. 1 is a 10/10 act and 2 and 3 have shitty town layouts and a few shitty zones, but still not horrible.

Titan feels pretty busted with the 50% small passive node.

They've responded that they're actively working on a solution that lets you swap them at will. So you can do controller for combat and easily swap to mouse for skill / stash / inventory management.
That's good, even if you need to press a key to switch(like press Start to switch to Gamepad active, press Esc or Space to switch to keyboard active) it's really nice to be able to switch.

Did they stealth nerf something or is it just bad RNG, I cant sustain T15 maps all of a sudden. Also died more today than in 90 levels of Monk gameplay.

At least I got my 4th Ascendancy done on Monk.

Are you doing boss nodes? I prioritize boss nodes and have easy over sustain. I think I get 3 t15 maps per boss, and less often 2. I think I’ve only once ever gotten only 1. I actually don’t think I’ve ever killed a boss without atleast one t15 map drop, amongst hundreds of kills

I’ve actually been corrupting lots of t15s but in retrospect doesn’t seem worth it, t16s sell for only like 9-10 ex usually and it takes 15ex of Vaals to get one on average

Yea if I do Bosses I usually get 3 T15s. But RNG has been weird today, also every map feels Mega RIP.

I’ve taken every class to 70 but warrior, it’s the only one that’s a complete pain in the dick and was not fun and i abandoned at 10, monk sucked until ice strike but not so bad pretending to be a ranger until 14.

highest map I’ve completed is 14, I can kill shit just fine but I get way to many one shots and the map is done I’ve lost exp and I can’t afford the gear to overpower things. If there is one change I’d bet my right nut on is this you die once the map is gone, that won’t last. I’d wager they keep the portals but change it to portal equals death, also the exp penalty will get nerfed as well or the experience gained will get increased. Also wtf with quest as you progress giving no exp, by far the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen in a game.

This has been the last few days for me: Spend 20 minutes running a couple maps. Spend 4 hours sorting through gear, upgrading gear, sorting inventory, ending up with like 2 points stat improvements. This game really fires up my autism in the best and worst way.

Just wait until PoB comes online and then the ratio can be 70% theorycrafting, 25% gear management, and 5% playing. People joke that PoB is the game and PoE is the testing grounds, and they're not wrong.

Some speculation the armour values are ass because PoE2 is a lot of PoE1 copy/paste under the hood and that copy/paste happened in like 2021 before the defenses update.

This seems plausible. Hopefully they spent all the time building the art and the engine with the plan of quickly iterating on mechanics after feedback from EA. Still kinda surprised that these games aren't designed backwards, where they start from the target endgame play and strip it down piece by piece to create the early level experience.

I did finally start a monk and even at level 6 its nice that I can use a lot of the 50+ skill gems I already had in my stash. A lot of the level 2 / 3s cant be used for higher level skills yet but I also had like 30 lesser jeweler orbs so I imagine the campaign will be way faster/easier to get through.

Just not really looking forward to doing all the side quests again...

0 for 5(6?) runs on Sanctum with good relics. Problem is Zarokh has some mega ailment threshold shit and any cast on freeze/crit/ignite type shit is just borked in the fight. Almost had him switching to cast on critical, but attrition with my low single target just wore me down with the arena filling with flying shit hitting me for 50-100 honor each time.

It really is just a function of having a "good" build or "bad" build and I'm just fucking around. But it's crazy seeing me with 50% more damage and 30% less mob healthy and bosses take 25% increased damage STRUGGLE to kill a boss with like 5 million hp, whereas in maps I kill bosses with 2.5 million hp in less than 10 seconds. It's really a tease for new players making them think they're way weaker than they are. Trial Master probably a safer bet for non-meta goof builds for 4th point.

People list items for 1 divine that are worth 10ex or less because they just don't understand smaller currency. And the site is fucked and reads 1 divine = 5 ex so sorting is fucked. I always check for upgrades in exalts first, then turn on all currency later.
