Haven't played PoE1 for years, but doing EA just because it's "shiny". Almost inevitable that I'll bail again at some stage due to PoE being a trading/economy simulator at it's core.

Can't see self-found being significantly more viable in PoE2, but should still be easy to find dozens of hours of enjoyment before reality kicks in at the endgame.

PoE self found progressively got better each iteration, and it sounds like they're pushing it further in PoE2. I did see a notable difference in SSF viability from PoE Beta all the way up to Harvest.

SSF will be made better by removing the frustration of 6-linking gear. The other frustration, rare build-enabling uniques, remains to be seen, but I would bet against it.

I’m extremely curious about their currency approach in PoE2. It sounded in that long ass preview the other day that currency was going to be more common. I imagine divines will remain rare, but maybe I misinterpreted. I got the vibe they saw some things with LE and decided “fuck you - we can do it better by just making it drop more” or something.

As someone who has never played POE but wanted to get into it, the timing is great. Also mana stacking sorcerer with energy shields sounds amazing.

Well it seems like a sizeable number of you fuckers are excited over PoE2 which is great since it seems like it's gonna be a big improvement over PoE1 .. I played PoE a little here and there but never spent a dime on any of it nor really dove into it.. the complexity of it with all the skill tree shit and 1000,0000,000 items for currency just made me glaze over and just never had the desire to get over that learning curve or get a PHD in trading shit.

Still this seems to have made the new player experience a bit better while still having more shit than I can think of it learn so I am going to be diving into it blind once it releases. Which honestly is probably the best way to enjoy the first playthrough.

Since I don't have any money spent on PoE1 or any of the cosmetic bullshit or stash tabs I am wondering how much extra is worth buying on this? I am going to for sure buy at least the $30 pack but is it worth it to snag the $60 like how much is needed to unlock a good amount of stash tabs and whatnot? I am not going to buy the $480 bullshit but whats a good ROI in your guys opinions on the currency?

Also hopefully we can get a few more people to use the discord some as when a new game launches is a good time to get to interact with a good number of forum goers. If anyone has any requests for channels or anything let me know I'll set it up. Right now I went ahead and renamed the D4 section since that game is pickled pig dicks.

I see Janx Janx and a few others on recently but I have assumed they have been playing classic WoW.

A reminder that the stand alone client is much faster than Steam for downloading/updating.

Build it and we'll hop in, man. Just gotta know its there and the rest will happen on its own. As far as the stuff you "glazed over" - just ask me and Ill hopium you through it. Shits brain dead easy. Its the end game in POE 1 that I thought just wasnt fun. (ability spam to be specific)

Some nice changes from what I've seen in a couple of the longer interviews.

The other thing for me will be melee, it has to be really good this go around, and not just "viable". If the new game can make me say something like "holy shit, this rocks" and not be feeling like everything would be dying three times faster with a ranged or minion build, for example. If they can make that happen, especially with DW and Sword & Board, then BIG kudos to them.
(p.s. I fucking hate Cyclone and Sunder)

I dont think there is a key. Mine just "Your account will be allowed to log in and play during Path of Exile 2 Early Access." Maybe you mean the steam key?
It's 3 keys, Steam, Epic Games Store and Early Access key you can use on the site. It will unlock it on the respective site, but can't download yet:

So the tabs you're really going to want, assuming you play more than just beating the campaign, would be:

at least one premium stash tab so that you can sell gear: 40 points
currency tab: 75p
unique tab: 140p
divination tab: 50p
Essence tab: 40p
Total: 345p

MAYBE the ultimatum tab, since that's more prominent in poe2: 40p
MAYBE the delirium tab, since that's more prominent in poe2: 40p
80 more points

The rest aren't as applicable to POE2 as they are to POE1. The $30 early access key gives you 300 points
Dump the rest into quad premium tabs (150p each) if you really feel short on space after that.

Assuming it's like PoE, they go on sale every few weeks, too.

But as is, it's hard to know which tabs will actually be worthwhile.

In other words, the early access bundle will be more than enough to do your basic shit.

Exhibition locker is free, breach is part of fragments, don't need a delirium tab, no tab for ambush, no tab for shrine, don't really need one for essence, no ritual tab. I can't see why the 30 point early access spent during a sale wouldn't get the job done.

I agree and by the time you need more than that, it’s probably means you’re enjoying the game enough that it’s worth investing a little more and support the game.

Unique tab is bait in poe1. Definitely would not purchase that one early
