On the flipside there's a bunch more mechanics to make learning easier like rolling and blocking, and presumably the first difficulty is going to be pretty easy, something where even face tanking a slam won't instantly kill you, so you'll be able to memorize the patterns until you push the difficulty up.Depending on where balance is that could be pretty miserable. If I would have had to learn Sirus with a single portal I'd have had a terrible time.
Pretty sure that was the first thing GGG mentioned when talking about the supporter packs. I think I've spent less than that.$480 spent on PoE1 gets you a key. Not telling you if you have spent that much while the EA supporter packs are for sale is kinda scummy. And in true GGG fashion, someone already built a third party tool to shore up the deficiency.
I've spent over $1400 but none since 2022. Weird dichotomy. Maybe it relates to PoE2 development severely affecting PoE1 development.
They don't want to be in EA for year, and think 6 months might be a good goal, barring odd things happening.how far is it from fullgame any ideas?
No, my point is that you don't know how much you've spent. And since people that do know haven't gotten keys, you have no easy indication that you will get a key, or not, for your previous purchases.Pretty sure that was the first thing GGG mentioned when talking about the supporter packs. My brother who thinks poe 1 is eye cancer thinks this looks sweet. As a veteran poe 1 player this game, while new and shiny, is so different i don't know how well it will stick.
For example i don't know how to feel about the "mapping".
In poe 1 i run the same map 200 times in a row. Is that better or worse than a different layout every map for fun and longevity? All i know is in poe1 most people don't run 10-way maven rotas but is that just a case of optimizing the fun out? Personally i doubt it but will have to see.
As i understood it it's basically delve but if you die/fail (even if you have 6 portals thats only so you can teleport out to drop off loot or bring more people) and your trying to path to a high value node you have to find another route because you can't rerun the failed map again. You complete the map when all rares are dead + the map boss if you're running a map that has a boss because not every map does so there's some choice there if you wanna kill bosses or not.I haven't watched the video, are you saying they made their maps procedurally generated? That's awful news if true.
The playerbase at large has never liked farming procedurally generated content in any ARPG ever. Its why places like Chaos Sanctuary, Travincal, Pindleskin were all so populer in D2. They aren't procedurally generated. People will always flock to the most efficient areas for farming because it makes it easier to kind of just shut your mind off and farm. Plus you know exactly where the start and end of your route is.
Contrast that to Greater Rifts in Diablo 3 and how fucking terrible it was if you wanted to try to push higher numbers. You had to fish for both the right layout AND the right monster type. I really hope they did not regress in this area.
I went through this last night, seeing if I'd spent enough previously, and during my research it said those founder packs are going to be available all through early access. It said anyone that pre-qualifies will get a key prior to release, so in theory if you haven't received a key on Dec. 6th and really want to play, just buy the pack that day. Or in a week, whatever. They don't disappear when EA starts. No, my point is that you don't know how much you've spent.
