Why hasn’t someone come up with ‘buildmaker’ app that works off of POB? It seems like it should be fairly doable you just enter your desired mainskill and what class you want to play(and some other optional criteria such as min life, elem avoid etc) and it auto creates the best tree, support gems, and gear

Not surprising a retard like you doesnt understand what a third party is. When it comes to PoE, GGG and you would be the first and second party. A trade site on GGGs website is still GGG. A third party would be if poe.trade was still up and being used.

Whelp, Chris just confirmed that this game will never be less RNG.

He just said that the term 'chase item' is subjective. He said Zizzeran would take it to mean he farms a certain boss or content to get a specific item. He then said that his (Chris') idea of a 'chase item' is (basic quote) "I love that specific item, I am going to run around playing the game and killing monsters until I get that item."

He literally thinks that you should just go play the game and hopefully drop the item you want. No mention of each league further diluting that chance or how he sees trading as a part of the chase.

Sorta? It's not consistent. One of the other chase items Zizaran bemoved the removal of were the level 21 gems with 23 quality as drops. You would be out there playing the game and you get this big drop and it is exciting. This league they changed it so 21/23 gems no longer drop while running about.

I'm pretty sure they got removed because the league mechanic was spitting out too many of them. I also think talismans got dumpstered because the ones coming out of Ultimatum were too good.

Delve used to spit out 21/13 gems all the time at depth from gem nodes. Sad they've removed them as it's always exciting finding one even if it's shit.

Makes finding off meta skills as 21/23 more or less impossible as a result too cause few people are gonna roll some shit skill in temple double corruption over just using the meta gems and making several more exalts in the process and shit. I guess you can buy the double corruptions to roll for yourself but then you have to subject yourself to the shitty RNG mechanics over and over while wasting a ton of money to get the same result as before.

the fact that chris continues to be the mouthpiece for this game is bad news for it's long term future. his knowledge level of the game has been really low for at least 4 years - it's very obvious.

The more he talks, the less I want anything to do with the game. So many good systems that have been put into a state that the playerbase likes and approves of to the point that it drives up the player count and enthusiasm, only to have them gutted for not being RNG enough/too deterministic/too meta. There's definitely people involved with this game that know how to do things the right way, it just seems like they're constantly overruled from above after 1 league or so of having their good ideas implemented.

I get it, it's his game and he wants it his way. The trouble with that is when enough people disagree with that way, they go play something else and the game dies. Or worse continues on as a shadow of its greatness.

He's really stifling the design of the game, if you want your game to be hard you make harder content at the top end of the game, you don't make everyone suffer playing your autistic vision of D2.
