Note the two passive points preceding the first, second and third clusters. You pick 1 from the first, second or third, and then fourth.

Also, time is a flat circle meme. That god awful chieftain slam passive was removed in 3.25, replaced with a weapon no one used, and is now back to being a passive!

Most of the ascendancies look interesting but I'm having trouble with build ideas. Tri-attribute miner just feels worse as Aristocrat than Inquisitor. I tried a budget manaforged Whisperer but it felt meh. I think Connor is a bit too liberal with his pob configs.

I'm mostly happy with this BAMA Paladin. Heavily inspired by Previe's lightning BAMA Necro. It's been paired way down to what I would call "League Start in Trade". Cheap 3-affix gear, no expensive uniques or rares, no AG, no spectres, 5 links. Things I'm not quite happy with:
  • PoB says Ancient Skull is a ton of dps. Paper dps? The minion has to crit to get the 50% attack speed buff and they are being frequently resummoned to proc fresh meat. And then it's eating 20% chaos damage for 5 seconds.
  • I can't figure out what passives to drop. I usually do level 90 for league start.
  • Maintaining 2 warcries on top of the clones seems a bit much. But that's dps that's hard to ignore.

I would highly recommend trying BAMA. As someone that dislikes minions and totems, BAMA is quite different. The range on the clones is quite ridiculous, 1.5-2 screens easily. This goes a long way to minimizing instances where you're waiting on a freshly summoned clone to kill the next pack(biggest drawback to traps, minions, and totems imo) because clones behind you are doing it already. Admittedly, this falls apart somewhat indoors.

Polytheist says Your spells are disabled. Does that mean you can still use auras that are granted by items? I would assume not but would be a nice loophole. If not that node seems pretty bad.

Edit: seems curse on hit rings work, I forget these are all just uniques in the game already and tons of information. I'll look into it more.

The best (and maybe only) use I can think of for the spells are disabled Grukthuls ascendancy points is Lightpoacher spirit charge stacking. Spirit Burst is a spell so it gets disabled and allows you to stay at maximum stacks of spirit charges for the gain as bonus.

Behemoth is actually 100% unplayable with that no spells line, full stop. Don't get baited, it won't be good. I was initially kind of in to the idea, but after looking at it a bit more in-depth every skill gem you think you might want to use has the spell tag. No berserk, no auras, no curses, no marks, no petrified blood, no nothing. Unless they change some gem tags or relax that line to something like 'your spells deal no damage' or similar it's completely DOA.

Has anyone seen any info on the Paladin aura node? Are those a no-reservation aura, or just...you get the skill similar to it being granted by an item? Cause that's a pretty make or break distinction for that class imo, as if the aura still costs reservation that's probably the worst ascendancy node ever made. I suspect given the beast aspect nodes call out the reservations are free that the Paladin node is gonna be ass.

I'm thinking Ancestral Commander so far. It's a level of tank we've not really seen from an asendancy, leaving you basically open to focus your entire tree/gearing on finding damage while it carries all your defense.

I agree that the aura node is essentially "taking two minor nodes feels wrong". Good thing Paladin has lots of other nodes ranging from good to ridiculous. I haven't seen anyone recommending it for minions, especially for minion builds that the puppeteer, arakaali, and herald specialize in. Wait, that's quite a few, maybe that's why.

Fucking EVERYTHING. Banners and stances and guard skills included. The only thing are warcries, they say you can use curse on hit rings, but I'm assuming items that give auras don't work since you still have to use them. Total trash node, if the ascendancy had the surfer node where you can get all those stats on non socketed gear it might be worth to league start, oh well.

Forged Frostbearers (introduced in Crucible and available in Verisium nodes in Kalguur) are super mega ultra cracked. I've been going back and forth on the available ascendancies to see if one pushed those spectres to the moon and Paladin is the best option.

I could see those working. Do you have good examples of that build clearing a map? The ones I find look like a fair amount of waiting for the "skittish" AI to keep up with you. By skittish, I think these spectres are programmed to keep away from enemies.

This is going to sound crazy but I purposefully bailed on them during Crucible because of how retarded they were and then didn't pick them up with Kalguur for the same reason. A fair amount of content has been made by the minion community about them so if you go looking it shouldn't be tough to find something usable.

When I say they're reaaaaal dumb I'm not exaggerating.

I played them during Settlers league with the +spectres helm. Did all content with them except maybe Uber Exarch. When paired when volley they shotgun with enough AE increases and they absolutely obliterate everything. With an unending hunger jewel they're giga fast and I was literally playing running simulator in T17's.

You'd absolutely, positively need to do trade. I tried to SSF them myself and I got to level 97 running random spectres without ever seeing Frostforge dudes from Veridium. I had to use the summoner channel and donate for them. That said, with some of the corpse spectres from affliction and other veridium spectres, you can definitely get a nice posse going. If you don't use the Wraithlord helmet you can probably just run a classic SRS/zombie zoo with some until you find/buy Wraithlord and or Frostforge spectres.

Also, they probably weren't doing much minions getting cycles every 4 seconds.


I always forget about predator support. Doomed to the pob trash heap along with Trinity and weapon supports.

I feel the same way about it. I'd rather not push the button even if the button is good. Giving them aggressive with feeding frenzy is an option as is using a delve wand with minions are aggressive.

I sent 2 ores with some dust and got a pirate spawn. He dropped the pirate gloves. Vaaled and got extra max frenzy charge. Sold for multiple divs early on. Eeasy peasy lol.
