Buy one, 5links aren't very expensive. Just check the shop indexers sites and do a search for a 5L with some life and a couple of resists, generally gonna cost you a few chaos but you'd have to spend a lot of fuses to get it anyway. Alternatively if you play SC look into buying a Tabula Rasa.
Just looking at it quickly, I see chest armor with ~50-60% total resist and 75+hp going for less than 10chaos. It's not like crazy stats or anything but unless you're rich you shouldn't care, and grabbing one of these for 5chaos is going to be a much larger boost in power than keeping a good stats 4L and a ton cheaper than trying to 5L a good armor yourself(or roll a good white 5L). I mean obviously you might be lucky and get it one fuse or roll a perfect chest with 1alch, but not worth the gamble imo.

There really isn't a guide on that. On my characters I usually run a 5 link as early as possible if I can sustain the mana cost on the 5th link. On mobile right now but I think the early ones can be used in the late 30s. What build are you running, what hc or sc talisman?
I've had decent luck just Jewler to 6 sockets then Fuse to 5. But that is more if its an end-game item for your build. Otherwise like the others have said just buy a cheap 5link and alch it.

Every affix for an item has a required item level for it to be rolled. You can see a list of prefixes and suffixes on the PoE site
or prefix:Path of Exile
suffix:Path of Exile
Two things I wish they'd implement is similar to Diablo3 where you can alt-hover over an item and it displays the min and max rolls for every line item and for PoE I wish they'd show if the item is an prefix or a suffix. It makes crafting in PoE somewhat confusing.

I have all the required uniques and it is absolutely destroying shit. You dash in, trap, regen everything via Binos. For bosses you just lay down 3 traps where they spawn and they just die instantly. I fully expect something about it to get nerfed.

Gonna try this build after not playing for 2 months. I see Talisman is the new default league now. Kinda pissed me off since all my good stuff is on standard but oh well. Anyway what gems did you use to level up with starting from level 1? I never really played Shadow in PoE before
I leveled the first few levels using Ethereal Knives. From there I went to Essence Drain + Contagian / Wither + Spell Totem (look up that build on PoE forums for gameplay/linking but disregard their tree) until 53 (the level you can equip the required dagger) at which point I moved over to the 5L firestorm trap. The leveling was quite easy except for (oddly enough) the end of Normal. Just pick up the Chaos nodes while leveling then when you get to about 40 or so start picking up the Trap nodes.
If you play TSC I know there is a Black Maw unique talisman in the guild stash that you can exploit as well. Just socket it with fire trap and level up with the trap nodes.
I also have a spare Infernal Mantle on TSC. Its only 2 socket but I could jewel it up to 6. I'm low on fusers so I can't help you out with linking it, though. Also be aware you'll need about 20-30 chaos to buy the required dagger. The Binos is about 1.5ex but thats more a luxury to the build.

I started a shadow on TSC. I was able to get a contagion gem but from a quest but using molten strike as my primary attack until I can get wither essence, drain and spell totem. Hopefully they will come by real fast or I can get enough orbs to buy them from other players.
