This generation everyone went big into the live service games, Sony especially. That coupled with the woke virus, burn out and over saturation of live service, and microstransactions has been a disaster this generation. Hopefully we will see a return to what made gaming great and the industry takes notice that the real majority of gamers will reject the social experiments and the companies will suffer financially for it. Let's hope anyways. Sadly, I don't think microstransactions are going anywhere.

My guess is if you make a badass game with an assload of compelling content then you pipe up with like “Hey! Want to do all that shit but on a flaming motorcycle of death microtransaction?” You’ll get a better response.

Also with this PS5 Pro business, none of the extra power matters when the majority of the industry is now inundated with low talent DEI hires who can’t code their way out of a fucking paper sack. I wouldn’t be surprised if even with the extra power they just take even more shortcuts and everyone is still seeing 1800p40 if they have VRR HDMI 2.1 setups.

I didn't buy a PS4 until I got a 4K TV and by then the PS4 Pro was out. They also had FF15 release shortly after the 4Pro while the 5Pro has nothing new until TBA 2025 territory.
5Pro needed to drop at the end of 2023 before Rebirth and Booty Blade released, but coming out months after means we're waiting for the Steam versions and not giving a shit about the Pro for years if ever.
