going through those lists, for ones I didnt see, or haven't in a while.

Crush the skull. pretty solid. tries to be more funny, then scary or tense. not supernatural at all. 7/10.

grave encounters 1 and 2. saw these before, but couldn't remember for sure what they were about. yeah, decent found footage ghost movies. would be FAR better without the lame digital glitching, and really shitty digital effects. and had just stayed with the practical stuff. fun in the sense it goes a bit beyond the usual, and into house of leaves territory.
7/10 if you enjoy found footage ghost hunter stuff. 4/10 if you dont.

Afflicted. Chronicle of American vampire in Italy. 8/10.

Caught The Lighthouse today. liked it more then Va-Vitch. but didnt love it. 7/10 I guess.

Now.. amazon prime recommended some movies after it.. one was "Sundown: The vampire in Retreat..

Its the most 80's thing I have ever seen in my life. Then, the cast... wtf...
The tone... its like an 80's kids movie.. but.. rape. naked male vampire, "does your wife still whimper when she cums?"
The kids are obviously ADRD with adults doing the voice over..

it apparently came out in 89, to just film festivals, and VHS in 91.
This would have been after Gremlins 2 in 90 for example.
Its listed as a comedy horror... is that intentional? how much of this is spoofing on other 80's movies? its not a horror in any way. def more of an 80's kid adventure movie... with wildly inappropriate adult themes at times.

I would love to know more about this movie..

It wasn’t ever that good. The first was a classic, second was meh.

I haven’t been watching many movies this year. We picked a random one called I’m Thinking of Ending Things and it was meh, slow but has potential the whole time then completely shit the bed the last 10-15 minutes. Worse than I’ve seen a movie shit the bed in a really long time.

I rate it a fucking F

Ahh man. What! How does it not hold up?? I’ve always loved WW2, way more than 1! I guess it’s a little lame w the whole weird naked Indian, but there’s a lot of funny in it. And the whole The Graduate sequence at the end is perfect. I love the graduate.

Amazon prime. Added 4 new blumhouse movies made for prime, for halloween.

2 of the 4 so far. and both are damn good.

Blackbox. basically a black mirror episode. Guy in an amnesiac from a car accident, gets experimental treatment.
Very solid movie. 8/10

The Lie. 7/10
very dark family drama.
Starts a bit rough, as the premise is a bit weak. we don't feel enough for the characters to really get behind some of their early choices. but gets pretty good as it goes.
esp if you figure out the "twist" early. as soon as Brits dad appeared and mentioned them making up stories, and working together.. thats the lie, not the coverup. I'm not sure how I have viewed the movie, if I hadn't immediately recognized it was all a lie.

Evil Eye. 6/10.
not as good. Very Indian plot. people here who are now triggered by everything might be triggered by "diversity". but it itself isn't really.
Mom obsessed with Horiscope and getting her daughter married.
The audience for this one seems to be almost exclusively Indian American women.
it probably would have been better if the Mom was just kindof going nuts over nothing. how does karma even work, if a rapist reincarnates as a nice rich dude? and then, turning evil again, after hearing her voice. what happened to the current personality?

A bit better. basically that same, high pressure music/dance audition/school drives people crazy thing we've seen before.
I think the ending is the biggest failure. bad end was actually the predictable direction. the very obviously didnt fool ANYONE with delusion. A far better ending would have been a good ending, with the sister stopping her. ...or else some starry eyes shit, where the self that jumps is her soul being sacrificed, while "she" goes on to be a super evil success.

Haven’t seen Varsity Blues since the theaters. Not Another Teen Movie made me want to rewatch it. Wow. What a pile of shit lol. Absolutely retarded southern accents, stupid plot, ridiculous melodrama, and the absolute buffoon Billy Bob is. Just garbage. Honestly it’s hard to tell if this or Not Another Teen Movie is the spoof movie. Grade: F-

Guilty admission. Watched both of the Babysitter movies, one with the cultists or whatever. Actually enjoyed them. Crass and just off the wall absurd. I need to re-watch 1 since it's been a year, but the sequel recently released had my wife complaining the whole film before at the end grudgingly admitting she liked it ok.

Watched the Last Drive In episode of this last night. It was really good. Think my expectations were a little high after reading the thread but is isn't some huge disappointment or anything. Very good and well worth watching. Joe Bob's closing monologue was awesome too.

Deathgasm was kind of meh. I think it has potential and who doesn’t love some boobs in their horror (that one chick was fantastically hot), but some of it didn’t work or keep me engaged. I’d probably say 6/10 or so.
