Was talking to a girl on Match and got her number. She is a FSU alumni and we made plans to watch the FSU game on Saturday. Normally she said she watches the games with an alumni group in Hollywood but I hate Hollywood and really don't want to go out there. I live in a really nice beach part of town and wanted to watch it out here at a local bar. She used to live around here before moving more inland so I figure she might like coming back out here. What is the best way to text her about setting up a location to watch the game? Suggest out here right away? Or ask if she prefers going with the alumni group or coming to the beach to watch? Don't wanna come off as indecisive.

Usually would not care so much but she is by far the best looking girl whose number I got plus she has a decent job. Don't wanna to blow it on this one.

Just pick a place and say "Let's meet here". There is no way she should expect you to want to go watch the game with a large group of people on a first date.

Shit's not always so simple. My girlfriend's friend just found out she was pregnant. She was on birth control, and had absolutely no interest in getting pregnant. She's living with a boyfriend that she had been thinking of getting away from, so this is the last thing she wanted. She did tell my girlfriend that she did occasionally take the pills at different times of the day, which can fuck things up. But just taking the pills doesn't guarantee that you will never get pregnant. Shit happens.

No, it can fail. It's hormonal regulation. The way it works is that it spikes the saturation of hormones to inhibit the production of an egg. It is possible for that to go wrong without pilot error. Rare (<1%), but possible. Sometimes the ovary makes one anyway. Because fuck you.

Bodies are not biological machines, bodies are biologic systems. The regulation and control that medical science offers does not approach absolute. If it did, you would never get sick.

It failed with my third kid. And I was monitoring her pills because her forgetting was how kid #2 happened. She was taking them every day, same time of day. It isn't 100%. Hell, her gynecologist wasn't even surprised.

If taken properly it's been scientifically proven 99%+ effective, which is FAR higher than the rating condoms receive. This assumes she takes them at the same time every day, and isn't taking other meds that fuck with BC like certain antibiotics. Is it absolutely foolproof? No, but it's currently THE most effective form of birth control on the market short of abstinence or sterilization. It never ceases to amaze me though how chicks can pop the pills for years without doing any research into which pills are best, the timing requirement, or what drugs can interfere with their effectiveness. As much as I'd like to convince myself that women's cavalier attitude towards BC bills is tied to general irresponsibility, I'm actually convinced they have some subconscious desire to get knocked up.

That depends on what 99% effective means. iirc it doesn't mean 99% effective everytime you bone, it's 99% effective over a long period of bones.

I also don't know the exact figure. 99% is a LOT different than 99.5%. One is 1 failure in 100, the other is 1 in 200. Big difference for what can be perceived by some as a small change.

The effectiveness is per ovulation cycle not per bone...
