TL;DR for Tinder, met 3 chicks, none worth keeping, banged 1 who had seen me at a bar earlier. Quality of women is above average due it the hot/not nature, but meetup rate is relatively low. Don't bother if you're fat/ugly, or have no good pictures of yourself.

No it was a really, really stupid article. She was essentially saying "Check out this groundbreaking experiment that discovers men want to have sex with attractive women regardless of personality". She wasn't even smart to realize her profile was actually an open invitation for casual sex.

Ok, after another week of using these sites. OKC is just depressing to look at. I don't know if I did something wrong but the quiver matches and most other women on there are ALWAYS overweight and just worthless to me. It seems like the select few who are actually active and not overweight are absolutely bombarded with messages and thus a waste of time.
Match seems to provide better matches and less overwhelmed women.
Tinder is still the winner though. I spent half of the weekend talking to a lovely young lady who I'm taking out this weekend.
Overall, I really haven't put a lot of effort into any of them (I've probably sent messages to a total of 20 women between the three) so take that for what you will.

If you're getting fat chicks, its probably your settings. You probably foolishly selected that you wanna hear from women who are 'healthy' or 'athletic' because that's what you actually like. Chicks on dating sites generally rate themselves at least one size smaller than they actually are.

More like 2-4 sizes smaller. Especially the ones that only use MySpace angles. I've seen a lot of pigs rate themselves athletic and you can clearly see a jelly roll around their waist. Deleted my POF account because it was nothing but mediocre Jesus freaks in their 30's with two kids who were 6's and 7's but still thought they were 9's. GTFO. Signed up for Tinder two days ago, much better class of girls, and I don't waste time trying to message someone that has an inbox full of 150 suitors. Still seems weird though trying to start a conversation with a complete stranger with nothing more to go on than our looks.

OKC is free, right? I'm curious if he'd have had the same results on one of the expensive pay sites like Match or eHarmony. In my experience with OKC and PoF, both sites are largely infested by degenerate scum of both sexes.
I think match is much better since the scum typically won't shell out money for it. It also depends on what is more popular in your area.

Also, if they say they are over 30 then add 5 years to their posted age. I always laugh at people who lie on dating sites, every lie will be found out if things go well. Simple game theory says, don't do it.
Trying eharmony here. I have hit up maybe 10 women with a message and only got chatting to one. Seems about the normal ratio. I did quickly screen out some hilarious profiles like the girl who managed a profile picture in her bra (no idea how she swung that) and three whose profile picture was clearly them with an ex. I mean, y?
I second that using the paid sites helps weed out some of the chaff. It keeps the Russian brides away and the ones who can't afford the fees.
