I've never used Tinder so I don't know how much information it gives about you. However, if there is any indication that you're American then your desirability jumps up exponentially abroad (assuming you're moderately attractive, at least).

I've traveled, lived, and dated abroad and I can assure you that American women aren't dramatically different from women in any other country I've experienced. The grass is always greener, etc. etc.

Dunno ive read you have to link Tinder to your FB account so, would it be easy for them to figure out that you are indeed a US citizen via your Facebook page?

Vvoid had an interesting point. eHarmony literally doesn't let the people who use it get "carried away" so to speak. As much as I try to I can't help messaging 20 women at once when I'm online searching. It's the efficient part of my brain I can't turn off. I know I'm not going to get responses from everyone so just save some time and message a bunch of women at once. The problems arise when half or more respond and I'm trying to date 4 or 5 women at once, and most of them are probably doing the same thing. It's hard to commit to really giving something a chance when there is so much opportunity. eHarmony kind of eliminates that. Maybe I'll give it a shot if it doesn't work out with this girl I just started seeing (who I met through friends).

It doesn't show your profile. It uses the pictures you select, and then just gives your first name. Best way to do tinder is to just make a fake profile with your pics on it.

Though there are some universal constants, I've found women from other countries to be extremely different than American women. How can they not be when the culture is so different? Montreal women are WAY different than American women. Same with the girls I met in Spain, France, and even England. And don't even get me started on German chicks... The main difference(s) to me were the courtship expectations. American women expect to be courted or play the "dating game", while it felt a lot less structured with foreign women. Also foreign women don't have sexuality/judgement hang-ups. If a French/German chick is DTF, she'll explicitly let you know and isn't worried about how she's perceived..

I think you're making some pretty sweeping generalizations about women from other cultures. I've met plenty of women in the U.S. that meet the exact description you listed for foreign women, and plenty of foreign women who had the same expectations (or at least their cultural equivalent) regarding courtship and dating that you'd find in the U.S.

*Edit* I never meant to imply that all women across the world are identical. The point I'm trying to get at is that in any given country or culture you'll find pretty much the same stereotypical women: loose chicks, stuck up/high maintenance chicks, laid back chicks, sporty chicks, religious chicks, etc. The main difference will be in the proportions of each compared to other countries. For example, you'll have a much easier time finding loose chicks in Colombia and Brazil than you will in England, for example. That doesn't mean that loose chicks in England and Brazil are dramatically different, it just means there happens to be more of them in Brazil. That's not how all Brazilians are, of course, and unless you're after that specific type of chick you'll find yourself encountering very similar problems as you do in the States with whatever kind of chick you do go after.

Well, yeah, everything but math is pretty much a generalization.. You can say "nuns are prudes", but somewhere is a slutty nun... My *general* experience with European chicks is that they're a lot more laid back and don't buy into the whole "Cinderella" life American women have been programmed to seek. *Generally* American women want to get married, and to a somewhat more general extent, want that "fairy tale" wedding if they can get it. Europeans don't spend nearly as much as Americans on weddings.. Now find me a French, German, or French Canadian woman that is dying to get married, and furthermore wants a fairy tale wedding. I'm sure it exists to some extent, but you'd have to dig pretty hard.. I don't think I ever met a woman in Montreal that actually wanted to get married (in 12+ years of dating); at most I met a few that wanted to WHEN/IF they had kids. Same thing when it comes to sex-- American women are *generally* either hung up via religion, via what their friends will "think", or some misguided form of "virtue". For a lot of them they need some self-justification (albeit warped) to have sex. European women are generally non-religious and simply don't have the same cultural hang-ups Americans do. But yes, you can find exceptions everywhere if you look hard enough.. In Montreal, I *never* had to worry about dating a religious chick, they seriously don't exist. Here in Texas though? At least 80% of female dating profiles list "Christianity" as their religion, and about a third of those specifically feel the need to mention their relationship with Christ in their profile..

Well, that's a good point. It's really hard to define what a "typical" American woman is like because they can vary so dramatically by state and region. I see your point a bit more clearly now, and I'm sure that there is a much bigger difference between the chicks in Montreal and the ones in Texas than the ones in D.C. (where I am) and in Montreal.

Yeah, I'd put NE American women somewhat on par with your standard English Canadian woman. The only big difference I've noted is that an 8+ female in the states has higher courtship expectations than an 8+ in Canada. More guys have more big money in the States than in Canada (more income disparity), so the very attractive women in Canada aren't as hung up on materialistic shit.

But yeah, dating as someone non-religious in Texas sucks. Besides the religion factor, the hot ones here are trained young to be brain dead cheerleaders. Go on 10 dates in Dallas with native Texas female and ask each one whether they'd prefer their future daughter to be in AP math or head cheerleader one day and the vast majority will say the latter. In my experience 7 out of 10 did, and these were all women with uni degrees too. I used to use "what decade(s) did WWII take place in" as my dating IQ barometer (30's and/or 40's being an acceptable answer), but so many failed that one I had to replace it with the cheerleader question.
