a_skeleton_03, don't try to be rational. They're wrong, but will never admit it. You've got a good thing, and you know it. I've got a good thing, and I know it. We all have friends with good things. But that factual, real live evidence is merely anecdotal. You haven't read this study that proves exactly what they are saying.
Speaking in absolutes generally doesn't seem to work out terribly well for those who do it, but they do in general speak loudly and repetitively. I believe it helps them feel better about what they are saying. And, at that point, it often seems ridiculous to even engage them in conversation.
