If they wanted to actually focus on the underrepresented, they missed a golden chance to cast a bearded woman for the dwarf princess. Beards on women occasionaly occur naturally and also as a result of polycistic ovary syndrome. It's also something that's obviously way more stigmatized than being black or gay is.

whats crazy is that 15 years ago we all would have creamed our jeans over something like this. Such an easy slam dunk show that could honestly be bad but we would still enjoy it. But now everything is literally such shit and nothing good has been made of movies or TV for 5-6 years we all knew this would be shit, woke, awful and one trailer confirmed it.

Amazon is quickly going from having to rehabilitate their shows to rehabilitating the Prime Video brand itself.

It's at the point where instead of getting hyped, fans are more likely to wince and groan when they hear that Amazon has picked up yet another beloved property to adapt to a show.

It was hard to focus on the game, let alone the trailer with hordes of screaming kids - but my first thought was how bad the trailer looked from a CGI standpoint. I thought it would be high quality production value, but super globohomo/egalitarianism garbage, but it even just looked empty and bad.

Man, with that Prime price hike incoming also? Jeez. Good luck. Glad Tolkien & his son, aren't around to see this garbage.

It's getting Picard/Star Trek series likes ratio and interest and engagement lol.

And they spent a billion dollars on this thing for 2k/3k likes. Almost no engagement at all.

Hate it or love it-- the engagement could be an early warning sign people are done with LOTR since Hobbit and aren't interested in Bezos Game of Thrones knockoff.

It's more than just the woke stuff. Every franchise (star wars, star trek, marvel, action movie franchises, tolkien etc) has been fucked out a thousand times so they can get a guaranteed payday from the masses who just go because they've heard of that and the liked the original shit. We all need to stop watching this shit so they will actually be forced to take a risk and make something new rather than trying to make anyone give a fuck about James Bond 35 or Star Wars 23.

Earlier there was talk about people watching this regardless. And a bunch of FOH posters agreed they would watch it anyway.

After the trailer that became uncertain-- I seriously doubt those same people prioritize this show at all. That's way too many apes and they are all front and center.

They're getting dragged hard even with the tiktok crowd.

It's the same deal with WoT, the costumes look so shit and if they didn't spend that money on the practical effects, why is the CG such absolute ass. Because the CG is absolute ass.

The sheen in every single shot-- regardless of day or night judging by the trailer, may as well have been shot by a Twitch streamer on his own green screen changing backgrounds on skype. How the FUCK was this shot on location in New Zealand and yet looks greenscreened and glowing with CG sheen all over the place and has the actors "popping" out of each shot from the discrepancy, like a puzzle piece.

Whatever production company Amazon is using needs to get dropped asap. It looks like it's the same people that did WoT.

Pure fucking garage not worth even a 1m per episode budget. Look at Witcher and look at LOTR.
