Like, I don't get it. I jerked off forever because I was going to school for free while also getting a check from Uncle Sam. I was literally paid to go to school and kept going until they money train stopped. Why not get an advanced degree versus trying to ring up multiple bachelors?

High school drop out, getting undergrad degrees in his thirties/forites. The end all and be all for all knowledge on all subjects; never being wrong or moving goalposts. Knows all current professional job markets despite never actually being in one. Seems sensible to accept his world views on everything.

There is no reason. Double majoring makes sense when you can do it in a semester, but advanced degrees are what matter.

I've had other people say that, and they're right. It probably would be best to just move on, since I have the BS in Anthro and that's really what I'm interested in doing.
I'm only like ~20ish credit hours total from completing the other degrees though, and my wife is like 30 hours from completing her Biotech degree, and I have two kids who are 14 and 11 so just kinda biding my time, waiting for them to get a bit older. Take care of my father, too, he'd be completely alone if I left the state since my mom died.
Life shit basically. All things in their place and time.

No matter how you try to dig and insult, nothing you can say bothers me. The things I've accomplished, particularly because of my background, the abject poverty my wife comes from, the personal and other issues I've had to overcome to get to where I am, I'm so happy to be who I am and to be where I am in my life. The people that matter, my father, my wife, my birth parents who I found this past year after 35 years without them, my kids, my mentor, the people I know in my personal life, they all see what I've done, how far I've climbed from how far I've fallen. Its just water off my back Z.

Seriously, that's exactly why I've smoked it for so many years. I have ADHD and am definitely high strung/really intense at times. The medications they usually prescribe for the stuff don't really help, like adderall, at all. Every time I've taken them I get all obsessive compulsive and shit. Way more than I am normally, and I'm normally pretty OCD.
Hopefully I can move to a medical state or like Colorado or something in a few years.
Or Obama will just decriminalize the shit on his last day in office by executive order and that'll put an end to it.

I usually just hit a bowl a couple times and then set it down for 30/45 minutes. Just sorta enough to take the edge off.
Can't remember the last time I got really stoned or smoked enough to get really blazed out.

I actually have no idea what it is about Mist that pisses you all off. All his/her posts seem fine to me most of the time. Seems reasonable on all but the rape issue. Now I don't follow him/her around all the time reading all their posts, so there's probably lots of contextual things I've missed.
But that might be just confirming your point I wouldn't know. Academia has been good to me since I entered it. But as already stated, I really didn't enter academia till I was a lot older than most people.
Prior to that I just read a whole lot, especially world history and religion.

There are a lot of reasons to shit on Hodj but his desire to better himself through education is not one of them. People wishing to learn more about the universe that surrounds us, be it through history, sciences or mathematics, should be applauded, not ridiculed.
