Richmond is a southern hell holeI dunno. It's like on one hand I'm not sure moving will solve any problems. It would just be nice to start over, meet new people.
Was in a decent size city but lease was up and unemployed due to quitting my last job to take care of a family member who had Parkinson's and cancer. He passed away and it's been a struggle to jump back into industry after taking a year off. No one gives a fuck why you took a work break (not saying they should). It's just reality is all and it doesn't look good.
Now I'm living on the beach in a 3/3 condo in a small Beach town and fuck it sucks. Small town sounds endearing at first but fuck there is nothing here at all. Hence why I spend too much time shitposting here heh.
Prob regret posting this here and not adult forum. The pain of watching someone die to cancer/Parkinson's fucking sucks.
hodj there are actually quite a few tech jobs in North Virginia. Got an offer from a company in Richmond earlier this year. Pay was great but Richmond seemed terrible and nothing felt right about the job.

Friend just moved to LA to work for a sweet tech startup but I've heard it's hard to make true friends there since everyone is kinda faking it or work there way in (Screamfeeder weigh in?).
I love LA for the gestalt. It's nothing like the liberal hellscape people claim it is (I actually live in a pretty conservative area) but you DO have a ton of wacky shit happening.
It is very hard to make good friends easily. You can very easily make have 500 fair-weather friends in the first few days, but actually getting people to really connect with can be tough. But I ran into that in Chicago and NY as well. People here are flakey and you get a lot of "Let's Hang!" followed by ghosting.

I support fair and equitable rule enforcement for any platform. I disagreed with Facebook and Twitter because they were enforcing rules subjectively to limit speech they'd otherwise find acceptable on groups they don't like. However, if you've got a rule that says "no violent speech" and I see its enforced reasonably with the same strict scrutiny say a court would use? I have zero problem with that.
Sorry, even with your most disingenuous reading of things =-/ none of this is pro-censorship. You'll be posting again soon, and you have a whole 2 rules you have to follow, and those rules are enforced by a jury who has always erred on the side of more expression. If you fuck it up, that's on you.
