Also for you Android users out there how is Androids music playlist, creation and playback compared to iTunes/iPhone? I listen to Audiobooks a lot and iTunes is pretty shitty in terms of how much organization I do with with my audiobooks.

Also how are the touchscreen controls for music? On my iPhone 3GS they have always annoyed the hell otu of me as the fast forward and rewind buttons are so close to the play button that I constantly hit them. Is this the same for Android phones?
I assume Apple only allows you to use itunes to play music unless you jailbreak the phone? There are a bunch of different apps for media playback on android, so you're bound to find something you like. I mainly use the google play music player, since I uploaded my library to google when I bought my Nexus 4. Amazon is pretty good as is Noozy, if you want one that looks like Windows phone 7/8. I don't know about audiobooks though, as I don't listen to them.

There are a bunch of non jailbreak apps for playing music.. but most of those still rely on the media library itunes imports (or ifunbox etc)

I have no issues with the mp3 functionality, but I dont listen to podcasts or audiobooks etc

iTunes does let you play any music you want but if playing mp3 file audiobooks it can't keep your place effectively if you pause. Plus the controls issue I mentioned earlier is annoying. If I could line the buttons up vertically just that would make a huge difference.

I am anticipating using SWYPE though. iPhone text keyboard sucks. Also how much better is the Android browser over Safari?

I would go with SwiftKey over swype. They added a swype like feature to it and it's prediction is spooky good. I have no experience with Safari so I can't compare it to the various android browsers. I use Chrome, but the default browser is decent, plus Dolphin HD and Firefox were good last time I used them.

Should I be worries about getting an HTC phone? Is HTC on the ropes? Or these delay issues for the HTC one a warning sign?

HTC is getting crushed by Samsung, but I don't think they're going to go broke right away or anything.

Other HTC concern, has the battery life of their most recent phones been acceptable(on par with the Samsung phones)?. My god the battery life on the Evo phones was just absolutely atrocious. Loved the phone but I couldn't browse the web for 30 minutes without killing the battery from 100% to zero.

When I had my HTC incredible I just carried spare batteries all the time. This isn't an option with the One though since it doesn't have a removable battery. The Verge review said it was pretty mediocre. I'm sure it will be better than the EVO but maybe not on par with the best phones.

Certainly not but the reality for Motorola and HTC (to a lesser extent) is if they don't simply WOW everyone with a device they must rely on a Samsung misstep to get back into the game.

The ONLY thing I like about the new HTC device is the build quality. Unfortunately for them the rest of the package make is far less desirable. HTC's first mistake was going Motorola and locking things down. Second mistake was continuing to add more bloat than features to sense UI. This coming from someone that has owned many HTC handsets.

Supposedly we still haven't seen any "Google" phones from Motorola yet. Google has even said that there was 18 months of pipeline already in place when they bought Motorola and they weren't impressed with the phones. It will be interesting to see what the first fully Google influenced Motorola phones look like.

I seriously don't know what people are doing on their phones throughout the day. I can get 3ish hours SOT with 4G on my HTC One XL. The HTC One has a bigger battery than One XL, so I'm guessing it will be around the same battery life. Just my opinion, but people who are on their phone 5 hours a day should really be more productive.

People travel and use their phones in different ways. If 3 hours is enough for you great. Its not for many.

Considering what the new samsung devices get (note 2 and S3) 3 hours is pretty pathetic. My note 2 can get 10 hours of screen on with wifi and 6-7 on 4g (heavy browsing).

I don't need all that time every single day of my life. Its nice to have though when I need it. Considering there isn't a shitty battery life discount on the service or the phone I'll take the extra life.

This. With the new update to Swiftkey, Swype is officially dead.
Despite reinstalling Swype it continues to be slow and laggy on my Nexus 4, the keyboard takes ages to appear. As a result I've switched to swiftkey but finding it really difficult at the moment, even the stock android swipe keyboard is better!

Just curious, but your measure of productivity is... what, exactly? My phone complements my day-to-day, it doesn't replace it (or detract from it).

3 hours is ridiculous for any modern device. Most laptops will outdo 3 hours with heavy usage.

What is the issue with it? I switched to Swiftkey a while ago because I was tired of Swype constantly being in "beta" and never having an official release. Even before they added the Swype feature to Swiftkey, I was able to type so much faster on it due to the word prediction. For me the Swype functionality works great on Swiftkey.

Have to say that the S4 being 50% more powerful than the Nexus 4, and double the iPhone 5 is pretty damned impressive. As long as it doesn't chew through battery life unneccesarily quick while bringing that much power.

The question is what is the upside of all that processing power? I can't say I've ever run into anything that slows down my Galaxy Nexus. Is there a benefit or is this just chasing numbers?
