Oh. Not only that it is possible, but providing a high profile example of it. Will is a personal guilty pleasure, the man can write and his mind is fascinating, but basically any high profile editorialist would work. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they just have an agenda and a deadline.

You can't deny or argue the basic correlation between "Obummer" and shitposts. That's the other end of the spectrum, I guess. I don't agree that even using the terms "Obummer" or "Dubya" is innately disrespectful or invalidates the content of the complaint -- even though a lot of times it is and it does. But the content determines that rather than the style.
Shilling? I'm just defending it. I've said over and over buy the console that plays the unique games you want to play. You tards are the Sony flag-wavers. I still don't think PS4 is "50% better", and I don't think most people do at this point either.

Tuco: I'm pretty sure I've said anectdotal evidence doesn't apply to the PS4ggots all over the place. Why would I think that didn't apply to me?

Here's a stats tip: You can prove presence, but you can never prove absence. I just proved PS4's presence.

I clicked out of this thread, and clicked on the state of the union thread, and was wildly disappointed when I realized I was back here. This is apparently not the trayvon thread; I was simply fooled. Shame on me.

I am wondering what people would have done if Biden said the same exact thing about Trayvon looking like he could be his son. Imagine that scenario and then tell me race isn't involved in the slightest.

How do you know Biden doesn't like him some black women, also I bet if some Chinese person said the same thing it would get the same remarks as Biden saying it. Kind of hiard for a black kid to look like some white guys kid or chinese, or indian, or mexican.....what I am saying is that your comment is fucking stupid.

It's hard to quantify how shitty this entire derail is.
But hard does not mean impossible.

Would you say it's more Obummer bad, or more Dubya bad? More Slick Willy bad or more Tricky Dick bad?

You know why we never came up with one for Cheney? Because he would have us killed.

I personally would have given just as much of a fuck as I did when Obama said it. Zero.

Darth Cheney
Leaky Dick
The 43rd president
Bionic Man

Me too bro but you can't deny race was a factor in the comment and the reactions. Obama didn't need to comment on the case at all other than to say he heard about it and hoped the truth would come out in the trial.

Since I am not an Obama mind reader and not personally Obama himself, I cannot accept or deny any intent in his words. I can say race was a factor incertainresponses because they say things like "race" and "involved" in the response.

Tbh -- Darth Cheney is the only one of those that ever trickled out and halfway stuck beyond.. I dunno? Blogs? It's not a list of what John Stewart might have called him once or twice in 5 minute skits.

It honestly seemed like "Cheney" was enough of an insult for those that wanted to insult him with his name. It's a hard name to get a simple insult for.

The thing that bothered me about the Obama's kids remark is that he said it while meanwhile saying his DOJ was "looking at the feasibility of a hatecrimes" charge or whatever. To not be bothered by that is just intentionally dismissing what he was doing as racial pandering. And maybe that's fine even. But that's what upsets some people about it. What if he'd actually beenserious?

So much liberal white guilt in here people can't just look at something for its face value.
Where is the white guilt? And what is liberal white guilt? How is that different from conservative white guilt? Is liberal white guilt worse than regular white guilt? Or better? I guess you personally can be comfortable in the knowledge that youneverintroduce race into an argument. So there is that at least.

I don't think I understand this argument. I mean, of course race was a factor in his comments. At the time, this shooting became the vehicle or excuse to have this sort of national conversation (I hate using this term) primarily because of 1) the race component, and 2) the 'Stand Your Ground' component. It only became apparent for most of us later on that this particular situation was not really a very good vehicle for discussing either.

How of course? What "of course" moment was there? Keep in mind, I have zero invested in this argument and just feel like exposing bullshit emotional rhetoric.

Also keep in mind all I need to do is find ONE example of a white president identifying with another white person who was a perceived "victim" and this entire argument is shot to shit. Over/Under on me already having that quote ready to go?

That's why I say maybe it's fine even. White people do that shit all the time and follow through with it. I mean look, if that was his angle, it's fucking brilliant.

I kinda don't think that was his angle. Dat NAACP money, I think it had him by the short and curlies.

The main reason he even made the comments, or was even asked to make the comments--the main reason any of us even heard of this shootingat all--is because of its supposed racial implications. On its surface, it looked like "white man guns down unarmed black kid and gets away with it." At the time, it was an issue of race, so of course race was a factor in his comments.

No. NOT exactly. What is "exact' about personal opinion?

The shooting became a national sensation. Every President going all the way back to George "Horatio Gates Scandal" Washington HAS to reply to national sensations. They don't reply to all and they don't always reply intelligently but they have ALL replied. You have no idea if he was "asked" or not. That's just pure conjecture to lend credence to your opinion (or implanted opinion).

I must have missed the speech where Obama said "The MAIN reason I made these comments was 'kill whitey'/'uppity negro'!" In the real world, you have NO idea what the MAIN reason was. You are very open to inserting the narrative spoon-fed you by CNN/FOX/NBC/ABC/CBS/Internet, but youactually have no idea. This is the problem I always have with these discussions.

You have opinion and platitudes and that's about it.

Again, I give zero fucks if GZ was a George Rockwell disciple out to purge the darkies or if Treyvon was a straight Elijah Muhammad dicksucker with "kill all the white man" tattooed on his face. Just don't make up shit for people to support your point of view.
