It looks like someone smashed together the Burton and Nolan movies. Really walking the line between gritty/real and comic-atmosphere.

Which, imo, is going to be the absolute hardest to pull off. The trailer isn't leaving me with a lot of confidence.

This looks terrible. He sounds like vengeances kid brother. Physically looks fine as camera angles ams editing can fix all that. But every time he talks he sounds like an effeminate Batman. Hope it comes to HBO Max because im not paying to go see it.

Here’s why this will fail.
Paul Dano is an amazing actor. And I have no doubt he can pull off the psychological villain.

But we already had that with Ledgers Joker. The guy out smarting and angering Batman, even the idea of an interrogation.

I hate modern trailers. We saw all the characters and the action but we have no idea what the story even is. I don’t need a giveaway, but how about a fucking quick idea to set up what the movie is about. All I see is one guy in jail, a hot chick, a fat bald guy and Batman going ham.

I’m cautiously optimistic. It at least has its own feel. I’d actually argue that every version of Batman we’ve gotten on the big screen has a distinct flavor. He’s got a stupid haircut though.

I forget…and I’d have to dig around to find my copy…but didn’t mulatto cat woman get done in Batman Year One? Did she have a bunch of stupid piercings too? I know Nolan took some minor inspiration from that for Begins, but Batman in the year one one-off was more unhinged than Nolan’s more subdued and controlled take. I remember a scene of him sitting there close to bleeding out in Wayne Manor trying to decide whether to let himself die or call Alfred. This gives me that vibe.

funny you should say that. when I was a kid, I used to get my hair cut by this Pesci looking italian guy and I vividly remember him saying to me "Have you seen that Batman movie? Looked like it was shot in the fucking dark". I was 10 years old

too bad Roberto Rodriguez never was given this franchise. i can imagine a Frank Miller Batman done like Sin City. make it rated R to match the movie Joker and then have them meet up in a gorefest bloodbath of violence. greatest Batman ever.

This will be 100% pure dogshit. Hollywood never fucking learns, 1 movie 1 villian any more in a 2 hour time frame and you done sat on your own balls. In the preview we saw Riddler, Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, and Scarface? Yep hard pass this is watered down pig shit.

Doesnt fit the source material at all. Bruce Wayne doesnt need to slum.
