"Re-engineering" The Last Guardian? I wonder what it means... I hope it will not end up being a PS3.5 game, as in a PS3 game upgraded to PS4 without making new assets.
More than likely making it PS4 game and utilizing new possibilities that the new console will allow such as better visuals and game engine. I've never really followed this game but i always see the "where is" topics poping up.

Off topic, how do people feel about paid beta's in general? Well more to the point these "founder" programs alot of "unfinished" games like do to? Paying somewhat absurd amounts at time for in game bullshit. I remember Neverwinter having something similar, but i just got an email from WARFRAME detailing their founder program BS and one of them was $249 and you really got nothing but in game swag, which really was crap.

Doesnt bother me, as long as its clearly stated you are paying for "beta" and they arent trying to pawn off an unfinished product. Options are good, if someones likes something enough to drop money for getting to play it a bit early who am i to judge?

Paid beta(plus swag) is no different than wasting money on a collectors edition of a game. Some people love paying tons of extra money for tshirts, soundtracks, art books, figurines, and all that kind of stuff. I am not one of them. Ever since the day that they stopped putting cloth maps in RPGs just by default, I haven't given a crap about packaging. I think I still have a few Ultima cloth maps in a box somewhere...

Er, it's totally different. One is paying for a (hopefully) finished product and goods. The other is paying to be an employee. If you want to do that, then that's your business, but there's a pretty damned huge distinction.

Dunno, shit just seems so much like an extra money grab its ridiculous.

"For an extra $249 you get a digital founders badge and more unique pixels!!!!!!"

So for $249 you really get not a god dam thing at all.

They're all like that anymore. Look at the GTA collectors thingy. $150 for a hat, tshirt, and dufflebag. That's like $20 worth of items for a $90 markup.

Long gone are the days of Collectors Editions that are like $10-$20 more and include maps, soundtrack CDs, books, etc. Useless crap costs a premium nowadays.

edit - For instance, the Lunar CD set for PS1 was like $10 more than a normal game ($60 instead of $50) and included a cloth map, hardbound manual, soundtrack CD, "making of" CD, and you got a puppet if you preordered it.

That's some value right there.

(oddly enough, I worked at Software Etc when this game came out, and so few people pre-ordered it that we had too many puppets. We ended up giving puppets away for just pre-ordering any PS1 game for a couple weeks, and employees all took 1 home too. They're probably worth a small fortune now on ebay or something...)

Well, it seems like a money grab because that's all it really is. But plenty of people are willing to pay for it, so why the hell not i guess. As long as they provide the product that is being paid for i don't have a problem with it. I may think it is an absolute waste of money, but enough people seem to be buying that stuff or devs wouldnt waste their time trying to sell it.

Not only are people willing to pay for it, they are willing to pay even more. My brother bought 3 copies of the Special Edition GTA and immediately resold them for 250.00. People are retarded.

I really wish I had pre-ordered more than one PS4. I now know full well that they're going to be hard to come by because there have been SO MANY pre-orders. I fucked myself on a quick buck or two.

I dunno. They have, thus far, upgraded all Amazon orders to release day I think. It's not looking good for resellers right now on the PS4(and that's a good thing, in my opinion).

Yeah I wasn't sure if I was going to keep mine or not but I figured I could always resell it but it isn't looking like that so I cancelled my order.

Well if when it comes out it is well received then expect demand to go up fast as Christmas approaches. Holding on to one till the week of Christmas could be a good gamble. Depends on how many more they have left over after filling pre-orders and how many they can produce per month.

Still with rthe XB1 and PS4 coming out before Christmas chances are anyone who can't get a PS4 will be able to easily get an XB1.

Still have that puppet sitting somewhere in my closet. A quick check of ebay has them selling for as little as $5 though the average seems to be in the $20s. Guess I'm holding onto it for another few decades.

Typing w/ 1 hand sucks (just had surgery). It's not a dufflebag, it's a security deposite bag, biiiig difference. Theres alsos maps and some exclusive in game stuff.

Founder stuff is pretty much crowdsourcing like kickstarter.

Nah my peeps cant get any on amazon atm for either system. They have had orders in for a couple weeks with no luck and shits only going to get worse as time grows near.
