You'll be able to transfer your chars to console servers. Seems weird that there will be vr12+ characters on console servers on day one.

I'm sure the console delay is exactly what they said: Technical issues getting their servers to work with consoles. There's no political or drama reason that would be worth putting off the release.

I'm interested in seeing how the consoles deal with rendering all the players on the screen. Seems like It's going to be a mess.

Do you think the game in its current state would pass the validation processes for the current generation of consoles? Especially with XBL, they don't validate your app without some serious optimization and bugfixin'.

I would say it's probably more on the billing side and how to navigate the subscription process, along with the PC version of this absolutely failing from a revenue stand point on all fronts. Honestly, with this announcement, I would be surprised if we saw a console version if they have to put a lot of work into it. A lot of executives are probably mitigating the risk versus potential profit right now, and/or damage it will do to the now considerable growth Bethesda has had in this vertical market (consoles) over the last 3 releases of TES games, and the Fallout franchise.

Geez. That takes half a year, especially when they've already sunk a ton of time into it?

I guess that's job security though. Workers don't have to worry about telling their families no Disney this summer so good for them.

I thought consoles and PC all play together on the same mega servers like FF14, is that not true? thats pretty lame, its really cool in ff14 how I can play on my PC sometimes, play on my PS4 other times, or take my vita to the throne and do crafting on the shitter if I want but its all the same servers and character I am playing.

Reminder: the PS4 and XBonearePCs, technically. There's no Cell processor fuckery going on here - either their core software design is shit and they're having to optimise the fuck out of it before porting it to the gimp-machines (likely), or they're trying squeeze as much money from their idiot PC subscribers for a few more months before they go F2P for the console release (even more likely).

And also a report on what we did tonight. Sure the game sucks but we're having fun still.

Tonight 30 of us raided Bloodthorn. I try to keep the fights to AB, but tonight the Aldmeri Dominion was beating the enemy back to their spawn point in AB, so we went to the server with the least AD pop and the fiercest resistance.

At the start of the night AD and red owned zero keeps and blue had us at our spawn point. We started off the night with a push on Black Boot and carried on to Faregyl. Once we secured a foothold we set our sights on the scrolls and raided blue territory, pushing through Nikel and all the way to their home keep, Ft. Rayles which had the Altadoon scroll.

We easily secured Rayles and began the long run back to our homebase. We had the entire blue server (90+ enemies) attacking us and wiped several groups of them, but our scroll holder's game crashed! Because you need to be out of combat to pick up the scroll we were slowly overwhelmed by blue's forces.

Blue secured the Altadoon scroll but did not recover Rayles yet. We ported back there and thwarted their attempts to retake it and place the scroll in it. However they cowardly left the fight and went to take it to their northern keep. We followed in their footsteps and took Glademist in their wake, securing our other scroll. We knew we did not have the ability to bring the scroll back to our home, so we instead holed up in the mine west of Glademist.

There we hunkered in with the scroll and defended the tower against the entire enemy server for a half hour. This diversion allowed both red and yellow to secure their homebase and granted us a massive amount of AP. Eventually their severed poured into the tower and overwhelmed us. We had our forward camp holder place a camp in enemy territory and continue taking keeps and progressing the Dominion's hold. We ended the night taking Roebeck and Nikel.

Seems pretty obvious that they've known for a couple of years that this wouldn't be any kind of success, so they finished development with minimized costs and launched it to recuperate losses without any expectations for it to do well as a game. Under those circumstances, shelling out the considerable money to develop console ports would have been retarded, so they didn't.

Seems really stupid to open up console servers to transfers. Syrim sold only a tiny percentage on PC relatively so consoles could very well save the game if they ever fixed it. Pushing PC players together with console players is LOL worthy. Much less fully leveled and geared players.

Their decision making on this title has been horrendous.

The PC numbers aren't that low for skyrim, but the only official figures(the 14% ones) show physical copies sales only, which for PC is a lesser amount of the total sales. Estimations are between 5 and 7.5m of steam users having the game, so 25 to 30% of the total sale numbers, which is around 20millions. I wouldn't call that tiny, even though it's not as much as the consoles numbers added up together.

Given past performance of PC/Console. That transfer will be a copy from PC to whichever console you choose. I highly doubt they got the contracts to allow 1 server for all consoles much less 1 server for all pc/console. Think you will find players on Xbox playing only with other xbox players, same with PS.
This isnt a problem with the game company, its more a problem with xbox or PS not wanting to play with a competing game system and share their customer base.
This has been a problem for awhile and I dont see it changing. Very irritating.

So I quit following this game after the second or third round of beta weekends, and completely ignored the launch. I know there were bets going on about sales and all that - how that turn out? What were the sales? Did bet losers follow through?

And were things less shitty for launch? Was mid-to-late PVE content a bug ridden mess?

Any other thoughts?

I'm thinking of subbing to Tuco's Vicarious MMO. I'm having more fun reading and looking at the exploits of PRX than I did in the game overall.

You guys have a six month plan for around $12?
